Games, especially with the Wii and DS, are seen as extremely casual therefore they have to appeal it to moms and old farts by not making them look complicated, hardcore, or captivating.

Hey, you know, just in case you didn't notice, all those new commericals are for a cartoony town 'sim', a cartoony puzzle game for the DS, and for a fucking rhythm action game.

They're not made for the same audience as the Nintendo commercials you showed us.

I think they just make commercials for games either not a lot of people know about, or don't know how the'll sell, with the one exception of Metroid Prime. Stuff like Super Mario Galaxy and and Super Smash Bros. Brawl don't need commercials.
