As a kid who was bullied from elementary school all the way to fresman year of high school, I can feel your pain to some degree. Albeit I was never Autistic (or if were, for that matter), I can recall the harsh sting of hatred and ostrization due to just being a little different.

Hmm, well as far as the IQ tests and stuff you took, they're all pretty much bollocks. It's a random jumble of unimportant things, and some people just plain read slower than others, and that will drop their score quite a bit. On a bell curve, IQ tests are only really "accurate" for people in the highest range of the curve, i.e. "normal" people. Persons who are considered geniuses or mentally difficiant may not truly be what they are labled. A mere 15 points can be the difference between one level of the IQ scale and another.
Not to mention, IQ tests were created by followers of the concept of eugenics. For people who don't know what that is, it's the belief of improving human nature by breeding the superior people together and banning the "inferior" people from reproducing, effectively ending their "worthless" lives. Might sound familiar from Hitler's Nazi regime in Germany during WWII.
So, personally, I wouldn't take things like that to heart. Your mom is just listening to what the professionals tell her. Especially if she has no idea about any of the disorders/syndromes you're accused of having, she'll just regurgitate what she's told by the doctors/therapists.

Honestly, judging by your posting style if you were to actually be autistic, it would just be in the social aspect of things and a very mild case at that, from what I can gather.. Basically, a bull shit diagnosis.. More than likely you were just awkward for a time, your mother didn't know how to deal with it, and she sent you to a shrink instead of actually parenting you.

My suggestion would be to just talk to the teacher after class one day. When they notice that you don't talk retard, chances are they'll see your mother's letter was mostly hype.

On the bright side, you parent seems like she may be ineffective, but I also think that she actually cares. That is always a plus.

I feel for you OP. They have so many classifications nowadays and are looking to label anyone with anything. I honestly believe that any person who is given such a test will always come back with a form of autism or some kind of disorder.

it's sad too how different doctors have different stories. You can't just solve everything by classifying it. whats even sadder if that you carry this label for your entire life just so some professional can get a paycheck and some company can sell their useless medication which absolutely no one should take.

I don't trust the professional opinion in general mostly because a profession is something people are payed to do. People think a professional is someone is is good at something but it is something you are payed to do. It doesn't necessarily mean you are good at it. To the professional what they do is the difference between a paycheck. To you what a professional does can have a very large influence on your entire life.

So in other words some asshole you don't know can pretend to give a shit. He makes money by doing so, and you carry a label for the rest of your life.

You remind me a lot of myself. I have many symptoms of Tourettes and Autism but my test scores are off the charts. Its normal to do horrible a year or two. Thats the ADD or tourettes. I had to take some meds when I was 11. It sucked. They made it worse. But yeah, your just gifted.
