Hello dear Newgrounds, I am currently looking to get into cigars, for many reasons, mainly the flavor. So I was wondering, what's a good entry level brand to start on? Also what's the average cost for a pack also how many come in a pack? And what's your favorite brand and what type of flavor does it have?

I'm gonna assume not many users on Newgrounds smoke cigars but it's worth a shot.

I think its actually legal to sell cigars to somebody without a mustache. The law also states that you should be wearing a hawaiian shirt while smoking the cigar.

Wrong. Cigars are just as harmful, if not more so than cigarettes. In fact even if you don't inhale it still can cause cancer. And if you have no experience smoking then you will vomit almost instantly and be repulsed by the odor and taste.

If by that you mean common sense and reason and we didn't even hear this from our drug class. The fact of the matter is that you do inhale fine cigars. And even if you don't some of the smoke is going to get into your lungs, and you will be addicted over time. And even though it's unlikely you'll get lung cancer, there's still the chance of developing mouth cancer. A cigar maybe twice a week at the maximum is okay but don't make a habit of it.

As for your question on cigars to start smoking, I recommend you try all the popular brands like Cohiba, Monte Cristo, H. Upmann, Romeo & Julietta, etc... I started on a Monte Cristos which are very strong tasting and smelling, I absolutely loved them. They have a spicy, earthy flavor to them.

If you want something mild to start I'd suggest Romeo & Juliettas, they're a nice smooth smoke and less intense.

A single cigar will cost you around $30 and last an hour to two hours depending on frequently and hard you pull. You can also get little ten-packs for around 30$, but they are gone in no time.

If you want something cheaper that is still a decent smoke, go for Backwoods cigars, for a 5 pack it's around $13 and they come in a variety of flavors like vanilla, aromatic & sweet, honey, berry, and they also come in black & mild or natural.

They're a lot more expensive than I thought they were, but I'll make do, how hard is it to chew off the end of the cigar like they do in the movie? Or do you suggest I use a knife/cigar cutter? Also I heard that the smoke rots them so you have to smoke the whole thing or it'll go bad after a bit, so could I say cut one in half?

This statement is entirely false. First, good cigars taste like ass. Second the smoke goes into your lungs unless you do not know how to smoke a cigar. Third, the smell is nice, but people smoke cigars for the pleasure, because cigarettes are for fags and cigars are for true men. Try black and milds or buy some nice cigars and smoke it like a man.

Never tried it personally, you'll probably rip the wrapper if you use your teeth. I use a double-edge guillotine to cut the cap off, it makes a nice clean cut so there won't be any carbon buildup or tar at the end where you smoke it. You can use a knife if you don't feel like buying a cutter, but they range from $10-$30 for a decent one.

Definitely don't cut it in half for two reasons. One is that some cigar makers use a lower quality tobacco at the part where you light it. Second is that you risk the half that is normally lighted may unravel once you've started smoking it.

I've kept some smoked cigars for a few days with nothing going bad, but I don't recommend it. They way I did it was I'd cut off a centimeter past the ash to that there isn't any burnt tobacco (A little bit of black in the center is fine), then I'd give it a good blow to make sure there isn't anymore smoke lingering in the cigar, then I'd put it back in the tube (Buy the cigars that come in their own individual tubes if you're going to save them), and put it in the freezer.

Also, I don't buying enough cigars that you'll have to put them in a freezer, it helps to keep them fresh for a while but it's bad practice all around. Just buy them one at a time from a smoke shop unless you want to get a humidor and buy in bulk and get a discount. Humidors require some serious attention though and they're not cheap, especially with all the accessories you'll need.
