Female Portrayal

I find that women in video games are always portrayed as Tits and ass.... I Know it's been said before but why should they be? They could make a girl in a game thats still hot without two big things taking up half the screen, games like Half Life and mirrors edge have a realistic style of a woman that I hope to see more of in upcoming video games. I mostly posted this to see other peoples oppinions on this.

T & A shifts anything, it's (unfortunately) a proven fact.

In a market where a nice proportion of consumers are socially shy to term it lightly, an element like this will draw sales.

Additionally, as games are all about fantasy, it gives the perfect excuse to implement this. We dream of having powers like time travel etc, same as we dream about our ideal woman.

As long as the focus on eye candy doesn't obstruct gameplay (Tomb Raider...) then it doesn't bother me. But then again I will never be able to see the fascination in pixelated flesh.

Good luck getting honest opinions on newgrounds. Although, I do agree with you, but apparently it makes people want to buy a game more if theres a slut in the background.

Anyway, the female character's we usualy see wear almost nothing at all. Look at Final Fantasy or any un-real type of game.

Nobody wants a realistic main character. That would suck. You couldn't do stunts like anyone else in a platformer, guns would never aim right and you would always fly back like 10 feet, and in a situation like a zombie apocalypse he would not only get his ass handed to him but whine and cry like a bitch, screaming at the top of his lungs possibly dying of shock or suicide.

Teens are the primary target of games now, so naturally women are going to all look hot to trigger hormones and men are all going to be badass because we are fucking pathetic behind the controller and want to escape that.
