Damn it, I haven't been able to see any new Derren Brown stuff since moving. He is a genius though. He works a lot of showmanship into his performances so there could be some sly trickery going on here.

I was confused by the bonus ball bit.

You know how he put his hands over his mouth? He had a pen in his mouth, and he wrote the numbers as they came up on his individual fingers, then picked up the balls (which are computerised) and put one finger behind each. Inside the computerised LCD balls was an OCR scanner which transcribed his primative handwriting into characters and projected them on the side of the ball.

The feed seemed live. Channel flicking between BBC1 and Channel 4 gave the impression that there was a live feed from both channels.

He couldn't reveal the balls until after the Lottery reveal due to Camelot rules and regulations which are in place to stop people from cheating the system.

It seems real, but Derren Brown is a tricksy fellow. It could be like that Horse-Racing bet he did with the hundreds of people, but only showed film of the winner.

I dont think its like the horse racing thing, getting a few people to take bets is one thing but filming all 14 million or whatever combinations of numbers verges on impractical.

Yeah. That was silly of me to mention that.

But these other theories on this thread are way more ridiculous than mine. OCR scanner in each of the balls? LEDs? Definitely not.
