What song's do you guy's have that feature some amazing guitar work? Songs like Got The Life by Korn, Virtually anything done by Steve Ouimette, and Enter Sandman by Metallica. The kind of stuff thats heavy, thick, and ass kicking. The riffs that change what you think a guitar can do.

(In before some vein person tries to seem cultured by saying Smoke On The Water. Holding down 3 frets and hitting a single string isn't amazing, or cool, or even difficult. I'm looking for something impressive here).

Hahahahahaha, LiveCorpse is dead. Good Riddance.

inb4 METALLICA METALLICA METALLICA.

Guitar riffs don't make the song for me. A song can have awesome riffs but then I hate it when everything else sucks making me hate the riffs.

Not sure if it'd constitute as a riff, but The Hellion by Judas Priest and Love Bites by Def Leppard both have VERY nice guitar parts.

It's not religion which will destroy us, be the root of social discomfort and cause conflict but misinterpretation.

Led Zeppelin- Over the Hills and Far Away. Jimmy Page is amazing.

And some of Jack White's stuff is pretty good, if you ignore his kind of annoying vocals and Meg White's drumming. "Screwdriver" by the White Stripes is a good example.

Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by a horrible cunt... me.

The guitarist from The Fall Of Troy is a guitarist I know for incredibly technicaly skill and interesting shit to come from it. He's fairly young too, and the only guitarist in the 3-piece band, and it sounds like a four-piece of two guitars at times. He sings damn well too, mixed with shrilled screams that sound awesome, too.

This is a song about cum on hotel walls. - Fippity-fap-fipfap. Bonus fap.

VAIN*.
How is liking that riff 'vain'? Stop trying to act like some guitar or music conneusiur because you're coming off as a 'poser'-esque tosser. That riff is mentioned a lot because it's memorable and badass, ok. It's not all about ZOMG TECHNIQUE LOLOL SO FAST. And you're quite hypocritical because all those riffs you mentioned are relatively easy to play.

Also smoke on the water is played on 2 strings you silly little feckwit.

So they made me their chief...which was nice.

The song 'Little Shred Test' that used to be in the Audio Portal had some amazing guitar riffs and solos, but the song is gone for some reason. Could have been stolen, I dunno....

Neither is mashing up down tuned chords there, boy o. That actually takes less talent than Smoke on the Water. Simplicity is key when it comes to music at times. Compare the guitar work of Sunshine of Your Love to Through the Fire and Flames. Which one has more talent? Which one is more pleasurable to listen to? Don't be a retard and pick the right one.

As for my favorite guitar riffs, I'll name a few songs:

Down To Mexico - Paul Gilbert
Scarified - Racer X
For The Love of God - Steve Vai
Hush - Deep Purple
Dream Girl - Deli Creeps
Life in the Fast Lane - The Eagles
Your Hand in Mine - Explosions in the Sky
Surfing With The Alien - Joe Satriani
Colony of Birchmen - Mastodon

Drop me a PM to talk about junk, serious or silly.

Speaking of Gilbert, I really like the riff to 'Daddy, Brother, Little Boy'. It takes generic metal pedal riffs and adds an air of funk.

So they made me their chief...which was nice.

And you say "Enter Sandman"? The riff I believe you're referring to isn't that hard to play, either.

I'd have to say Paramore - Decode. I don't know why, I just really love that riff.

"Shine on, You Crazy Diamond"

Around the second minute of the song (I think?), David Gilmour goes into a 4 note progression. Its awesome and you will always know the song when you hear these notes in the order he plays them.
