What would they call it? District 9 2 or District 10 (considering that at the end of the film it mentioned that the prawns were being moved there)?

Awwww!!!

The would most likely call it "Sequel to the best movie ever".

It is only fitting.

It's obvious they're going to make a sequel for it. I mean, District 9 was such a success in terms of the movie and advertising so why the hell not?

I'm awaiting a sequel as well.

Everything I see is just a image of my thoughts "Always looking for a better day..."

Well, the company do these sorts of films.

I'm awaiting a sequel as well.

True, but it will only be made if they feel the original made enough money.

I don't think a sequel would really fit. The movie didn't seem like the type of film that would spawn sequels. It got its original message across in one film just nicely.

On the contrary, the ending of the movie left the door open for a sequel, which would obviously take place 3 years later when they come back to pick up their kind from Earth.

I seriously hope not. Any sentiment the first movie had would be completely lost if they made a squeal. It was a decent movie, but it shouldn't be some series, thats seems too cheesy in terms of what they were going for.

I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they would greet me with cries of hate.

District 9 2 sounds horrible.

District 10 sounds much better.

Saw it this weekend. I wouldn't call it the best movie ever, it's not like it was groundbreaking.

It more or less asked for a sequel, probably District 10 because the aliens were moved there.

The first movie wasn't very good. I don't think a sequel is necessary. It's pretty obvious that he dies and if he doesn't then the writers completely fucking fail at life.

They'll call it District 10 and it'll be twice as bad as the first one.

SPOILER:
his wife receives a self-made flower and it shows the main character fully developed into a prawn making the exact same flower and looks at the camera. so yeah on board for a sequel.

I doubt it'll be made as a game called Section 8 was released, and it'll obviously cause confusion / Copyright issues of some sort.

It'd be called Shitty Movie: The Sequel, because District 9 was horrible.

District 10 sounds about right.

Who knows? Maybe they'll come up with a title that will throw us off.

I'm really wishing that I actually bothered to go see that movie. If it's still playing I'll probably go see it tonight.

On a more related note, they would probably call it District 9: *BLANK* of the *BLANK*.

If I actually saw it, I could probably fill in those blanks.

It would be called District 10, where Humans land on an Alien planet and are segregated from the Alien population.

Ok, all the District 9 haters, what exactly did you think was wrong with the film?

Also, on topic, I think they left the door wide open for a sequel. It's just a case of whether they can pull it off as well as they did first time. Considering possible storylines, the docudrama style may not work.
