I think the person who hacked Canas is using the review modship now. I marked the abusive reviews on Tarboy and went straight to a garbage whistle, and the reviews were able to be marked again. Also, those are the only reviews I've ever marked.

A moderator got his account compromised, it had the power to delete submissions, they have a lot of time on their hands and basically 'pruned' the portal.
And since there aren't any admins online at this point in time, there's not much that can be done.
