hey everybody,
i want to make a game thats like castle crashers but i have no idea when it comes to AS.
in a nut shell..... I need help!!!
if anyone can help me out with the coding, or callab on this game, it would be very much appreciated.

Most likely I would recommend learning AS3 FIRST. Castle crashers was coded by coding geniuses and designed by art gods. Start with something simple first.

svsaproductions is completely right. You're not going to just jump in and make an amazing flash game. There's a ridiculous amount of information the process. Simply put, AS takes a lot of time to learn.

You are the same as me! I wanted to get a team together for Power of 3 but no one wanted to do it. I am happy to make a castle crashers game with you. After watching some of your animations, I think you are very good!

Woah . i was going to do a game like CC well actually im in the process of doing it and when you say like castle crashers im assuming a much lower definition flash version because CC is like 500mb and whoever says you need as3 well thats not completley true because Dad n me the game that inspired CC was done in AS1 using notepad! really. but some healthy competition is good i just advise that you have some kick ass story line and good bosses to make up for the small game . ive already got my story planned out and lots of code. its growing rapidly but its good that you want a power of three collab . that make it 10x easier for me but believe me when i say no matter which AS you use prepare for some loooong nights cuz its a tough one.nothing like a platformer.

OK fine they are i admit it there not even close to as hard but i didnt want to discourage anyone but seriously you can write a platformer in like 10 min but isnt it interesting how so many popular games are platformers alien homonid cave of wonders dadgame time fcuk
they can definitely be good as long as you have the right concept just look at stickya adventurya

Seriously go write a decent platformer with no tutorials or guidlines, make it fully functional, with decent hittesting and a variety of enemies.
Oh and in 10 minutes...GO!

First off the 10 minutes part was for emphasis for the fact that platformers are easier to understand secondly the reasons I havent made one is because A.Im currently pouring myself into a 2.5 d brawler B.Like i said before i need a good original idea because i want to try and keep my BA high C.Whats the point theres a million and one platformers out there even though ive only had flash for two months i can write a platformer and i did start but then i realised that i had no idea where i was going and not enough experience to make it stand out so i picked up what i had learned and went 2.5 its more of a challenge and ive got better ideas for it
Please dont take everything i say literally im just havin some fun with ya :P

If you don't make a 'variety' of enemies it would only take 10 minutes really. You can build the base of platform really easy once you know what your doing. But just a simple engine won't cut it you need to bring something new and/ or fun to it like teleportation, time travel, flight, puzzles, storyline, unique weapons or improve the engine with physics.
He said you can make a platfomer in 10 minutes not make a fully completed game.
