I have time warner Which Is pretty good (i work there though maybe I am biased)

Either way america actually ranks pretty low on avg internet speeds. Our national avg is a little over 5 mbps optimum. S Korea is number 1 with a national avg of 20. something mbps optimum.

I think a lot of that though is how big we are geographically. retooling an infrastructure that large just takes a long time.

My friend has FIOS and I have Time Warner Cable.

Actually, Time Warner Cable is the best internet, on Speakeasy I get in the red zone for downloads and my friend gets around 3 MBS

This is a relatively bad day for my connection. On a good day, quadruple the download speed and double the upload.

I live about 4 miles as the crow flies from the exchange, but of course there's a whole lot more cable than that. Old cabling (I live in a village, not a town) and long distance= frequent disconnects and low speed... the line is *supposed* to handle a 4Mb connection.

I have no idea how he is. I guess he's sleeping.

I can get around 800kbs here in Manchester on talktalk.

UPC, it was 10 MB/S but they tripled it, so I now have 30 MB/S

I usually download at 1.2 MB/s, that's the max of my internet connection.

800kb/s to 1mb/s download speeds, unlimited bandwidth (just as well with over 2gb a day sometimes). £25 a month, which is pretty good considering I live in a rural area.

On a good download i can get to like 233kb/s

no such thing as 1GB/s thats just locally, if you hook two computers up with glassfiber you'd get speeds like that

My internet is stupid. 350KB/S max at a limit of 1.5GB. Just got over dial-up.

Poverty, not really though.

On a bad day, I usually get around 526 kb/s.

On good days, I usually get around 1.5 MB/s

I have a might Sky Satellite which gets a whopping 6200kbps download speed! Upload speed uses phone line and gets 500kbps.

But yeah, Sky is the most unreliable piece of shit, both internet connection, phone and TV, its all shitty except for its speed on the off chance that it works.

I'm getting around 350 kb p/s right now on my laptop, my pc is a bit faster.

I have Time Warner. I'm not happy with it but it doesn't quite suck either. My downloads are usually about 500 KB/s although the customer service people are useless.

My internet is about average. I get terrible upload speeds, but decent download speeds. I do get unlimited downloads though, which is nice.

I have comcast "high-speed" internet which advertises with up to 16 mbps with "powerboost"

PowerBoost just lifts up the retrains for the first 5 - 10 MBs of the file, then it just goes back to the normal 1.5 mbps i get.

Yes it works but my parents are paying for the theoretical 16 mbps. And i am getting over 10X less speed.

i have comcast, and for some reason my internet is much better then a lot of peoples' that i know. i get the highest or close to highest ping in video games.
