Most of my friends are either older than me or the same age. I do have a few younger than me but it doesn't matter to me. My friends and I held a 3 hour conversation about Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and video games. And there was 5 of us and we all contributed to it.

We also saw this huge bug that was about the size of a fist crawling up the side of the house.

We were outside.

I talk politics with my friends as much as I talk about which girls in school we'd fuck. Maybe you just need to expand your interests, instead of forcing it on to other people? Or, you know, get new friends.

I spent like a half hour talking about sub-atomic particles shifting through dimensions in order to conserve mass. String theory. My physics teacher didn't know what to do.

It's never too early for Christmas.

Same here. If you're fine with being reserved, good for you. But I for one can't stand it.

As much as I enjoy the few deep/meaningful conversations I have, I probably get into fewer casual conversations. I enjoy the few parties I attend. I also like making money and buying shit and saying words like 'gay' and 'retarded'. But that's just society's influence on me, I guess.

I'm sort of torn between anti-social behaviour for the sake of individualism, and behaving like everyone else for the sake of being social. That's high school, I guess.

At least I have one friend who I can have both deep and casual conversations with. Some people don't even have that.

Yeah whenever the girls hear my nerd talk they get so wet. Too bad the only female in my physics class is the teacher. Wait was she coming on to me?

You're a teenager yourself according to your profile.
and you're a fucking moron for automatically assuming i meant EVERY SINGLE TEEN ON THE PLANET! do you need someone to say "SOME TEENS" so it makes sense? clearly everyone else got it because you're the only one complaining. Would you like us to talk about your hair instead? is this discussion to much to handle?

Did you say most? Or some?
No?
Than fuck off you douchebag. Make a thread and one person says your generalizing and you get all butthurt. Go cry more because teenagers act like teenagers and not adults yet.

Your more mature than they are as of right now, shut the fuck up and live with it.

In College, it gets a lot better.

There were a few times I thought I was going to go nuts in my high school because almost all the people I talked to were vapid and shallow rich kids.
Still, there were always a few guys I could talk to.
You just have to look for them.

Now, over in college we've got TAs that'll help with your major, I already know a Senior and Supersenior in majors that I might want to go into.
In college, it seems that the people are smarter. And dumber at the same time.

My computer's breaking down, so nope.

I always think of people as being too materialistic. Then I think of myself. I have been buying electronics like mad. It is my life. I am a filthy consumer.

They don't talk about all of that.
They talk about cocks and puberty and whine all day about the LIT portal.

Maybe you should start a conversation about something you like. People talk about stupid shit like shopping and movies to avoid awkward silences. Next time you're hanging out with a bunch of awkward assholes, try starting a discussion on string theory or politics and see where it goes. If they'd still rather talk about boys and music, then find some more interesting friends.

You probably won't have this problem if, or when, you go to college. You'll still meet plenty of stupid and materialistic people, but the majority of college students actually have an interest in something other than sex and shopping, so you might not find them quite as boring.
