Are you getting a PSPgo?

Im just wondering how many are planning on buying this. I mean, I like the idea of not needing the UMDs anymore, but I'd Im not sure I want to pay 250 dollars for a Compu- I mean gaming hand held.

No, I still have a rather good collection of UMD's. I'd rather buy a 2000 or 3000 PSP model, I still have a 1000 model which works fine. I have no reason to go out and pay for it. Maybe when it's cheaper I'll consider buying one.

I've played all the PSPs best games (God of War, Resistance, GTA games, etc) and while I thought they were good games, playing them on such a small screen with fairly awkward controls is really off putting. For that reason, I could never really get in to them.

Looking at the redesign, this problem hasn't been solved.

Yeah, I have mine pre-ordered through Amazon. I traded in a bunch of games back when Amazon's trade-in program first started and they offered $75 off of the purchase of a console when you traded in $75 worth of games. I ended up trading in about $175, which made the PSP Go essentially free with the promotion.

The promotion made it a pretty reasonable price, so I went for it. The portability was a pretty big contributing factor in going for the Go instead of the 3000. I also like the idea of a completely DD system. My only worry is that the PS Store is really the only place to buy them, which means I won't be able to look for deals like I do for console games. I bet retail will probably end up selling vouchers, so maybe that's a way around that problem.

I'm pretty excited for it. Hopefully, Sony puts a bunch of the past games on the store like they promised. Future releases are looking pretty good, but I want to play the older titles as well.

So, no hacking, then no PSPgo for me. I didn't buy my original PSP with the intentions of being legitimate :P

well I didn't know how much a PSP would go for so I included the and/or. You can buy a pack of dried jello for a few cents though. I would throw that shit in a tub and turn up the AC over night.

That's not entirely true. 3000 models can't be fully hacked and flashed with CFW, but they can load a non-persistent version of the CFW. The only drawback is that the CFW has to be reinitialized after every power down.

CFW on the 3000 hasn't progressed any further because of the Go. If Dark-Alex or any of these other teams find a work-around, it's better to wait until the Go launches so Sony can't get rid of any exploits that may be still in the Go. Dark-Alex said as much when he put up his last CFW. I don't see the Go! never being hacked. The Homebrew community is persistent.

Nope. My PSP 1001 has 8GB of memory, 5.00 M33-6 and a lot of homebrew apps. I love my PSP 1001, I see no need for the PSP-GO.

Plus, the PSP 1000 is very hard to break. It has an internal metal shell surrounding the plastic shell as reinforcement.

the suspense is killing me on this console! I don't own a psp and waited like half a year to buy it cause evreyone was talking a bout a huge redesign. Now there is all this controversy about it! I honestly don't mind buying all the games online but the way they are talking about it(1up.com up has an informative video interview) I don't even know if all the games I want will be available to be bought online.
