My chewing problem only seems to shine through when I'm holding something in my hand and I absentmindedly put to my lips. Then the next time I really take notice I'm chewing on it, or sometimes just licking it. It used to be really bad when I was younger but I guess I kinda (halfway) grew out of it.
Plastic/Metallic things are my favorite to chew on though.

I chew on pens all the time without noticing, and I only seem to notice when ink gets in my mouth. Other than that, it's usually gum. Biting your nails is kinda disgusting, but I'll admit that I used to for a time.

I don't. But I know a lot of people who do. just today i was eating lunch with someone and they had finished their drink and chewed the cup up into bits, then got a straw and started chewing on it. He actually went through two straws.
So no, I don't do it, but I don't think it is weird.

It's a serious problem for me. I go through around 3 or 4 pens a day at college thanks to chewing the hell out of them.
Any other time I'd be biting my nails or looking for some other random thingy to bite onto.
