Out of curiosity, what kind of e-mail provider do you use?

What kind of tools and services are provided?

For users who make multiple e-mails such as a Gmail and Hotmail account, which do you prefer?

Have you ever switched e-mails because you were getting pissed off at Microsoft or Google or whoever?

I still have the same e-mail I had back in highschool, I hardly use it for anything except the odd important e-mail and the slew of junkmail that I signed up for.

I use Yahoo! for the simplicity Yahoo! offered, you know where weather, mail, local events were all in one box, news stories front and center.

But then they had to fuck it up and make it confusing. I seriously have a tough time looking at how it is now.

I use yahoo. It is nothing special but I have had it since middle school and I see no reason to change it.

I use Hotmail. But I've been thinking about trying to find an open source provider, if anyone has any suggestions. (F***ing Microsoft.)

I've also used GMail and Yahoo. Didn't see anything special about them. And it's another big corporation on top of that. (F***ing Google...by the way, anybody know a good search engine alternative? I'm tired of seeing the fruity G every time I open my browser.)

And I used AIM once. I subsequently added it to the list of reasons AOL is pure suckage.

I originally used Hotmail, but once I was invited to Gmail I never went back. Gmail, like most google related things, has a very simple layout which gets you to where you want to be, fast and easily.

And even though it has a great spam filter, I still use my old Hotmail account when I sign up to some random site I just want to troll on or something. Maybe because I am trying to make sure I know Hotmail was shit. It is basically my Email trashcan now.

So yeah, Gmail all the way,

Hotmail is the best. While it doesn't have any bells and whistles, it does the job, without fucking up.

A first for Microsoft.

Not at all, I could sign up right now and I'd still have no answers to my questions, and my parents have changed ISPs a couple time and it seems like such a hassle to switch between @Shaw.ca @Telusplanet.net and whatever else they've had. It's ok, I don't expect you to understand something beyond your comprehension, you just keep doing what you're doing.

So why the hate towards Microsoft? I mildly understand the Google thing, but what on Earth did Microsoft's Hotmail do? You seem to have merely complained that the service is run by a major company (truly, one of the best for that size, if most of you whiny kids would wake up :3), and threw all logic out the window in the process.

Seems silly.

I was half joking; Hotmail works okay for me. Although IE did allow a really nasty bug into my Windows system, since the two are apparently inseparable from each other, so yeah, I'm not happy with Microsoft right now. (I now do just about everything on a limited user account.)

As for Google, they're trying to take over the world. Although they are now in competition with Twitter, which I equally detest.

My ISP won't run maintenance through anything but Internet Explorer. Why would I trust them to handle my e-mail?

Used to use Hotmail. Got WAAY too much spam even though I only gave out my email to NG and a few friends.

Switched to Gmail. Much faster, much more reliable, near no spam (and the filters very good, so basically none anyway).

Now have both, I never log into my Hotmail though, I just use it for MSN.

I have a Yahoo and a Hotmail account. I got the Yahoo one so I could sign up for Neopets, and the Hotmail one when I was 11 so I had an e-mail address specifically for my old crappy website. (Which is here, btw)

I like gmail the most. It organizes all your emails that are in the same subject into a chat-like thing. It's not cluttered and I can easily find past messages.

I use hotmail - its easy, pretty, and to-the-point. Plus I'm not sucking Google's corporate e-dick any more then I have to (Microsoft's is unliekly to get any bigger).

I have 3 GMail accounts that I regularly use, and 3 Windows Live Mail account that I regularly use. I notice no difference because I never ever check them in-browser, only using Windows Live Mail, which allows me to check multiple emails at once, and have a common inbox. It's really handy, and it's very simple to choose which email account I send outgoing messages from.
