I'm amazed that so many people are asspained over losing a couple of hats. It's amazing how many TF2 players wanted to play dress-up. /v/ is having a riot over this.

Well, I did get some of my unlocks deleted and I didn't get a halo.
This entire shit is stupid and hilarious at the same time. It caused a fucking civil war between TF2 players.
I hope Valve makes a better item-getting system now though.

The new content really isn't great. Some more maps for XBOX would be good, but the class updates are really just silly and annoying.

Valve really hates cheaters, hackers, coders, and piraters, don't they? That VAC system thing has to be the worst anti-cheating system ever created. I've seen users get banned for something they didn't do or for something unnecessary, while cheating happens right before my eyes and nothing is done. They're so serious about cracking down on that stuff, but do they really need to? It's just a game.

I've yet to see someone wrongly banned by VAC. Everyone says "blah blah I didn't cheat!" when they actually did. Some dick on MSN was raging about it; "I DIDN'T HACK STUPID STEAM." he eventually admitted he'd been wallhacking. In regards to it being just a game, it's a billion dollar industry.

They're for the shitz and gigglez. They just make your character look slightly more unique.

However, they can be seen as a mode of status. People who have hats, are good players who have been playing for a long time.

Or players who leave their computers on idle servers all day. I don't think that going to the normal idle servers in-game was affected by the sweep.

Anyway, this way of thinking that has = status is down to Valve, what with their hidden pages involving hats during the Classless update.

Seriously, people thinking that it was okay to abuse the system should get slapped. Yes, there was no policy and it wasn't technically cheating until the latest post, but the reason for this is Valve weren't expecting a external idler program.

Yet people used it thinking it was cool. I has no hat, apart from the Halo, and get a bit pissed when people who don't play the game get more chance of getting items than those who do play it.
