Hi Newgrounds,
I was wondering about where you guys get your news from. Currently, I read TIME, but I don't feel like it's effective as a news source. And I read some internet news, but that stuff feels so surface to me. I'm thinking about subscribing to The Economist... Any recommendations?

Go watch MSNBC. It's the only unbiased news source left!
Let the flaming commence.

Well fox news i find gives a very unbiased and fair report on every story. Haha. Did anyone happen to see Glenn Becks last rant about pretty much everything democratic they've aired a few times in the last few days? It's unfair and dumb as shit, but fuck me it's funny.

Put Fox News, Mother Jones and Deutsche Welle into a blender and see what you get.

I'd say the O'Reily Factor, but don't watch it right now. Bill's on vacation and he's left that annoying Laura Ingraham in charge of his show while he's gone.

Also, The Week is a pretty slick read - short, sweet and to the point in every issue. I used to read it all the time; it's good for people who are bored by long-winded articles.

As sad as it is, the joke show daily show with jon stewart is as unbiased as it is honest. Yeah it leans democrat but they make fun of everyone and give the republicans a chance to speak unlike every other network out there.

I don't read any certain news outlet, I read them all. Ok, all except Fox. It's so hard to get the entire story from just one writing of it. I usually start off at Googles news page, then I click on the "all ??? news articles" that pertain to that story link. But it usually takes a couple different articles to find out the entire story.

News for me? I try to get it from stuff like Wikipedia with their news updates. Then I also watch "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" which I do for jokes and besides, this website itself has plenty of posts about recent news stories.

Just use a variety of sources and couple it with factcheck.org.
Even when factcheck gets something wrong they double-check it and admit their mistake.

The Guardian. Its a UK paper which is what I want and doesn't have share holders and so is slightly less biased. It also has a very good website.

Dude... He lies through his teeth. Anyway, for a 99.9999999% unbiased news source, I'd have to say Reuters or AP.

You know, there's a difference between people like O' Reilly, Beck, and Olbermann and people like your generic newscaster. The former comments on the news, the latter just reports what has happened. So to say that O' Reilly and Beck are extremely biased news sources is true, but that's because that's their job. They're supposed to comment on the news. People act like news commentary is some sort of evil, but it really isn't, be it liberal or conservative.

Most commentators on MSNBC are actually left-leaning, save for Joe Scarborough, who leans right.
I get my news from John Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Watch or read any segment of Murdoch's evil empire, and just think of the exact opposite way the story could be reported. Best news source going.
Sure beats the BBC, which has become neutered beyond belief.

I also recommend The Onion. A smart, reliable, unbiased news source if I've ever seen one. Not humorous or parody-laden at all.

Most of my news comes from Google News. Yes, some of the stuff it shows is biased, but if you read a few different sources on the same topic, you are likely to get some very good information.
Other than that, I read a goodly amount of Newsweek, which can be biased but typically has some good information. And I watch 60 Minutes, which is a fine program for any young lad or lass to watch.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Drudge Report. It covers all areas of news, especially politics, and it provides some things that may be drowned out in regular news outlets. Sure, Drudge himself is libertarian, and sometimes his headlines are misleading, but the vast majority of the time he links to news stories written without bias. It's been demonized, but in reality the Drudge Report is pretty subdued.

Yes. I also read The Independent and The Washington Post for a variety of different views.
