This may be a generic 'vista is craaaaap' rant, but I have a valid reason and hopefully it might warn some other vista users.
I bought a IK multimedia stealthplug off a german music site, (Thomann, they're very reliable and quick btw) which is essentially a USB software that allows you to play your guitar through your pc or laptop.
On the box, and on the site it proudly stated COMPATIBLE WITH VISTA, and that my version was "The latest with updates to work with Vista".
Long story short, it turns out it is only compatible with 32 bit, whereas I have the 64 bit.
This annoys me because they obviously weren't fucking specific enough, which essentially borders on the point of lying to customers. It's also annoying how there reasons for not making it compatible with the superior 64 bit is that 'there isn't a big enough 'market' considering almost every laptop made since 2008 is installed with Vista, that's a ridiculous statement.
So yeah, because I actually had to open the package and install the software, this breaches the money back guarantee, meaning I'm £65 out of pocket because Vista apparantly isn't 'appealing enough', regardless of the Box assuring me it would work.
I've read online that a lot of various types of software can lead to this problem, so if you have 64 bit Vista than I suggest you read carefully the specifics before buying and especially if buying online.
To sum up for lazy people, Vista 64 bit may not work with software that is 'vista friendly'.
