By this, I mean, do you like the taste of beer? A lot of people drink beer, and a lot of people like it for its alcohol related side-effects, but as a drink, do you actually like it?
I can't drink beer, due to the taste. I think a lot of people are introduced to beer at an early age, and they get taught to put up with the taste. I only started drinking at 18, and I was firmly against the idea of me ever drinking before that, so I never got used to beer, and I don't think I ever will.
So if you drink beer, and don't like the taste, what convinces you to keep drinking? I notice that beer and cider are usually the cheapest things in bars, especially per unit, so I can figure why you'd drink it in that situation. I've been tempted to suck it up and just start on those to get drunk for less, but there's a reason they're cheaper, and that's because they're just disgusting.
Does a liking for beer or cider have to be indoctrinated at an early age?

I don't really like beer and I'm 16 so I'm guessing it's sort of a acquired taste where you steadily get used to it
Saying that though, some of my friends can drink cider like its water but I can't stomach it so maybe some people just prefer it more than others

I definitely drink just for the effects and not the taste. It's not a bad taste, but not something I'd drink to enjoy the flavor. I think most alcoholic beverages are not that tasty, except the mixed kind, which men can't really drink socially unless they want to be called pussies for drinking a strawberry margarita.
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by a horrible cunt... me.

Not at all, you just need to find a beer that you enjoy. Beers come in every shape and form, you can even get dessert beers that have fruity notes in them. What beers exactly have you tried?

Also they're great with burgers/steak.

The taste grows on you, inatialy I hated it. It entirely depends on what you drink like the beers Miller, Coors and Budweiser (including its variations).
Overall I like the taste of beer now.

It depends on the beer. I'm very picky about my beer, almost to the point were I never really drink because people never have the right kind of beer.
And I wont drink other kinds of alcohol either. I don't want to get smashed I want to enjoy a frothy and flavorful beverage of the most sophisticated nature

Darker bears are generally better, but there's always something else I'd rather have.

I've only had one beer that I've ever liked, and it was in a red plastic cup, so I couldn't tell you what it was.

I really don't like the taste either but after a couple doubles of rye the taste of beer seems to fade away.

The taste is revolting, I have no idea how people can drink entire shots at once or drink beer like it's water without dry heaving every sip.
I don't much care for the effects of alcohol either.

Beer is decent. But it takes like, 6 of those fuckers to get me a little drunk.
And it fills you up and gives you a terrible hangover! Beer is the alcohol of my grandfather, VODKA is where it's at now!
Nickoli vodka gets you drunk quick and doesn't have too bad of a taste (to my standards)
Just get used to drinking vodka and you can get up to 4 people drunk on $8!

Try "Blue Moon." That Beer is orgasmic.
But, in contrast to Blue Moon's awesomeness.
If you want a horrible beer, you could always buy a pack of Miller High Life, and live it up like white trash.

I find that Guinness has a very good taste.
Other beers I just use for drinking games when you're chugging them so taste is never a factor.

I've never been able to drink a whole beer at a normal pace. I had small amounts of Fosters, Carling, and I think Sol, and then due to some competitive Pub Golf type thing, I've downed a Fosters, bottle of Becks, and something that may have been Kronenbourg.
I didn't notice a difference in taste though, and I find it repulsive enough that I doubt subtle fruity nuances would make it any better for me.

Oh, and I've also tried Guinness, which I had an incident with. I was at the Guinness factory in Dublin, and you get a free pint at the end. Trying to drink it, I spat it all down myself, which made me smell until I got home. I couldn't stomach Guinness.

I to hate that piss water.
I can't seem to see the point in drinking something you dislike, there are many other things with similar price to volume ratios.
Of course my friends always badger me about it when Im downing Smirnoff but who gives a fuck.
Try Fosters, it is the only Beer that I actually drink... after I am wasted.
*No longer PaperBoy, due to a technicality involving a 'missing' energy drink, I am now TiredBoy...

I love the taste, it just takes a little time getting used to, but once you get used to it, it tastes great.

There are thousands of different beers in the world and countless variations and types of beer.
Personally, I rarely drink beer when i'm on a night out, because pubs/bars tend to only serve cheap and nasty beer that tastes like shit and makes me gag. But at home I will drink it quite often, because I buy the nicer stuff that you don't find in pubs/bars
