Heard of them? Guess not.

That's fine, I didn't expect you to. They have no albums, no songs on iTunes store, nothing on spotify, no music on their myspace, nothing on their website except a tshirt for sale, a blurry picture, and some forums, and something about google earth.

Hold on a sec, go back to that myspace.

Take a quick look at that lineup.

DAVE FUCKING GROHL (foo fighters, nirvana)
JOSH FUCKING HOMME (queens of the stone age)
JOHN PAUL FUCKING JONES (led zeppelin)

Yes, you read that right.

And I saw them live on saturday. They played a secret set at reading festival, and they were fucking amazing. Musically they sounded a lot more QOTSA than any of the other bands involved, but that's still amazing. It was pretty wierd being at a gig where everyone's going wild yet trying to listen to all the music because they don't know any words.

And I fucking saw them.

And you didn't.

(lol hi there krum)

ps: to anyone in uk they're playing a few shows in decemberish. check your favourite ticket website

Heard about them on the radio, I got a bit surprised then I stopped caring.

I think I heard some song of theirs about stars if I listened to the radio discussion right, shit was cool.

Well, I went to see the FFers on an off chance last year, and they definitely weren't the Foo Fighters. Meh, seeing such a huge band in a tiny tent would've been uncomfortable anyway, and I wouldn't have got anywhere near the front.

I'm sure their album will be good when it comes out. Dave Grohl's side projects tend to be good, if PROBOT is anything to go by.

What's with all these supergroups showing up lately? Chickenfoot, Tinted Windows, the Dead Weather and now this one? Not complaining though, this one has a great line-up. If only they had JIMMY FUCKING PAGE playing lead guitar and having Homme take rhythm.

Unrelated, Kings of Leon pre-Only By the Night were the greatest rock band of this decade.

Yes, agreed, and they were wank at Reading when they said that the crowd was "fed up of Kings of Leon".

and when they played revelry, closer, and crawl in a row.
they did however play red morning light and molly's chambers and the crowd barely blinked. wankers

Wait, who said that? Caleb said that?

It also has to do with the fact that they're asses. They've always been tools, but since Only By the Night came out their douche levels are at an all time high. Reading their Rolling Stone magazine article made me sick.

I miss the days when they would play The Bucket and Slow Night, So Long and go apeshit with Trani.

You've got to be kidding me. All the "old school" KoL fans do is bitch about how KoL don't play their old stuff anymore, of course they won't, if their shows are crowded with their new fans who haven't heard anything older than Because of the Times.

Yeah, caleb.

Here's a quote from The Sun who will at least have transposed it word for word.
KINGS OF LEON were so fed up that frontman CALEB FOLLOWILL turned on fans yelling: "For all those who don't give a fuck about us, I understand. But we've worked hard to be here. We're the god damn Kings of Leon, so fuck you." "

and when they played revelry, closer, and crawl in a row.
I miss the days when they would play The Bucket and Slow Night, So Long and go apeshit with Trani.

Yeah, it was a shame how no-one moved at all and then they played Use Somebody and I could barely hear them anymore.
I saw them two years ago at Reading, and they played pretty much half of Aha Shake Heartbreak, one of my favourite albums. :(
FYI their setlist this time consisted of, quite depressingly:
2 from Youth & Young Manhood
4 from Aha Shake Heartbreak
6 from Beyond The Times
8 from Only By The Night

But seriously the crowd barely moved during four kicks. And if you're not going to go wild to four kicks, what are you going to go wild to?

My mate has been going on about them for the past week, despite never having heard any of their stuff, or even knowing which member of Zep was in it...

Might have to pop along to Edinburgh to check them out for myself.

Wow, what an inconceivable ass. "We're the god damn Kings of Leon, so fuck you."? Really if it wasn't for their early music I wouldn't find one reedeming quality about them. Which is why I refuse to see them live until they learn to grow up. First (and last time) I saw them was in '06, when barely anyone knew them. Not blaming the new fans, though, there's really no excuse for that large amount of being a jackass.

FYI their setlist this time consisted of, quite depressingly:

Ech.

But seriously the crowd barely moved during four kicks. And if you're not going to go wild to four kicks, what are you going to go wild to?

Exactly, and as if their new "Southern U2" crap they're going for makes for a great show in the first place.
