Sonic in 3D games

Is it me or has every game after Sonic made his big leap to the 3D platforming genre been a big pile of shit? *excluding the one from the dreamcast*

I mean, every 3D sonic game i've seen suck, they controls are bad, he's too slow. The Sonic Unleashed almost hit the nail on the head until they screwed it up with that werehog mode....ugh

Not to mention that Sonic knight abomination. Why the hell does Sonic need a sword??

I've they're going to release another rip off mario game which involves sonc AND FRIENDS drive vericles...thats the worst idea yet. Wouldn't it be better if Sonic just got out the car and ran? Like hes suppose to?!?

I think the blue hedgehog should be left to die in peace.

I agree entirely, I've seen way too many of these topics, I'm even getting haunted by them in my sleep.

But to be honest, I don't think Sega has really produced any good games over the last couple of years, from what I've heard that is, since I haven't bought a Sega game lately.

Not gonna happen, so long as he sells. Of course, you could do something like what they did for Shaq-Fu: steal all the Sonic games and destroy them...but that's of questionable legality. :P

Which is why they had a team called Sonic Team (original huh) that would work on the games while Sega just publishes them. The original people who were in that team has since moved to other projects which is why Sonic isn't as how it used to be.

To be perfectly honest my major complaint about Sonic The Hedgehog on PS3 was how unplayable i found it. Graphically it was fine, better than quite a few other games at the time, in fact, but that didn't make it the most accessable or playable game in Sonic's repetoire. And you forgot that Sonic 3D on the old Megadrive was actually a damn good game!

A. A 2D game like New Super Mario Bros. or
B. A good 3D game like Sonic Adventure, even Sonic Adventure 2 was pretty good

then I think Sonic could still be saved. Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen. Which is sad, because Sonic used to rock my socks.

Sonic games were only good before the console drop

Spyro games were only good before insomniac left

Sonic games have an unnecessarily large cast of characters

Finally,
Games 1-3 were the best of them all, hands down.

I never played many of the 3d sonic games but they would have looked fun without all of the broken programming that's been mentioned on atleast 3 games so far mentioned on this thread. Sonic is already fast enough without the Karts or ANTI GRAVITY Boards.

The controls have been almost the exact same since SA2 (which was the best game of all time) As for the sword and the werehog mode, SEGA's just trying to come up with new ideas for sonic instead of just doing the same old thing.
For the millionth time, I will write this list:
SA1: Took sonic to the 3d age
SA2: Gave evey character a rival
Heroes: Used teamwork tactics
Shadow: Guns
06: attempt at a next gen revolution (that wasn't HALF as bad as people say)
Secret Rings: Added a new twist (but bad controls) to the sonic series
Unleashed: Added a rough, tough, fighting mode to the games
Black Knight: Continued the storybook series. Also, most people are intrigued by the middle ages and SEGA wanted to add that element to the sonic games.

And project Needlemouse will bring back the classic 2d element to the current sonic
