Hi, guys. I have a problem. My iPod Nano (which I've had for less than a year) refuses to turn on when not plugged in to USB. I've tried all the normal stuff - draining the battery and waiting for a few months to try it again, resetting the power supply through diagnostic menu, and even just holding down center and Menu, but nothing will fix it. If I have it on when plugged into USB and unplug it, it turns off immediately and refuses to turn back on. It is not charging.

When I take it to my 'friendly local Apple representative', they say that I have gotten it wet and it will be $60 to fix it, which is complete bullshit.

It's a genuine Apple product and I've tried it with 2 USB cords and 4 USB slots spread over 3 devices.

Help. I've seen this problem with other people too.

P.S. If this helps, it says that it's fully charged. It has the little charged icon in the top right corner and says "Connected", not "Charging."

pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.

I bought it 8 months ago. However, if you read my post, you would've realized that Apple reps aren't that much of a help.

i had the exact same problem
i ended up doing something when i just plugged it so i got back to the menu, and it started working again.

i think it had something to do with the battery

i lurk, i game, i think, and i don't unnecessarily use caps. maybe.

I can get to the menu just fine - when it's plugged in, that is.

That's what you get for buying an Ipod.

I mean for christ sakes, I own one..but I got it from someone for free.
It can't even transfer music or be in more than one library, that's HORSESHIT.

If you wish to learn the ways of the troll, PM me young grasshopper.

hmm, cuz when i reset it after plugging it in, it would consider itself not plugged in and promptly crash.

Ask the representative for proof of water damage.

I've made my mind up, there's going to be trouble.

There's a strip inside every ipod that indicates water damage. The representative probably saw this and came to the conclusion that the strip was no longer white.

This is pure, assisted self-destruction
