If I was a game developer I would do NOTHING to change the game if this sort of thing happenned. This is MY game, not yours. If you think it's racist, I probably can't change your mind. So I won't give my own response to every one of those "activists" (what would you guys call them?), in fact I wouldn't give any responses as it's a waste of valuable time. I likely gained myself an extra month or two by announcing the game will be delayed, and I would spend that time sprucing up the game, not searching the interwebz to see if anybody has a problem with the screenshots.
It's not like they can sue and win.
So yeah guys, I'm TOTALLY not buying the game because they promised us DLC instead of a sequel, anybody want to join me???

If L4D shows me the four main characters, two of which are black, pissing on zombies, taking dumps in their carcusses, ripping open their throats and calling them "n-'s", making a whole bunch of racial slurs about the zombies, and the two white characters get to start off better-equipped and better prepared and outright superior to the two black ones, without ANY substantial reason as to why in a game like L4D where surivival, teamwork, and cohesion are necessary, than its racism.
Do you think the developers are releasing this game solely to spite black people? They're going to sell games and avoid lawsuits by degrading black people in a video game, and they plan to sequel it by making fun of Hispanics and Asians in the next game?
If L4D shows me the four main characters, two of which are white, corkscrewing and chainsawing zombies, smashing people in the face with frying pans, blowing heads open, clotheslining zombies, picking up molotov cocktails and starting forest fires, and all of the characters have an equal chance to get where they need to be and what they need to have to survive, with an obviously awesome storyline depicting their seperate histories, then it's awesome.
Do we really need to discuss for the fiftieth fucking time why black characters in anything being killed is bad? I myself find it intriguing, its not racist at all, hell, it'd be worse saying there were ONLY white or black people in the game, its like the developers were either single-minded or lazy, and the case is USUALLY the latter. I'm black myself and I found Resident Evil 5 and Left 4 Dead to both be enjoyable games, why does the skin color of something that's DEAD even MATTER to people!?

Well, considering such games are (loosely) based on actual historic events, it makes no sense to pin the racism tail on the developers. Also, not many people are going to stand up and defend Nazi Germany.

It's not a big deal with the Germans because the game setting is somewhere during WW2, which means that Hitler and the Nazis were in power, making it ok to blow up and kill the Germans, because they are all Nazis.

As for the topic at hand. I don't understand how the game is considered racist if we leave other races out, yet when we include them the first thing thought upon is "if you kill them you are racist".
And on the plus side having more races in the game in my mind should attract members of that race whether they be good guys or bad guys. The only exception to that would be if the main Villian is the only character of a specific race and does stereotypical things that promote evil in the game.
Just because I like to kill black people/zombies, doesn't mean I'm racist. Right?

Does it really matter? Black or white, zombies share the same thing in common: THEY NEED TO DIE. It also doesn't seem fitting that two or the protagonists are black themselves. Really, if people look at stuff like this, it only reenforces the idea that we're all different. Seriously, some people are just too damn sensitive! As a general rule of thumb, before making a statement, go beyond looking at a few screenshots.
You know what I don't understand? If the enemy, or even all the enemies are white, nobody seems to care. BUT GOD FORBID BLACK ZOMBIES! They are, which is why they are so guilty. They try to blame others of being racist to hide that they themselves are racist. It's basic psychology, like when a cheater becomes paranoid of their initial lover and accuse them of cheating, even though they are the ones commiting the act. When someone plays a game that kills a certain race, they don't see it as "I'm killing (insert race here) people." They see it as "I'm killing the bad guys." The ones that complain about killing black zombies are just being hyporitical. You shouldn't let them ruin your fun, let them live in their own little world, while we live in the real world.

Louis killed white people in L4D vanilla. In most other games like previously stated GTA and it's clones you have the opportunity to kill other races and even play as one of those races.
When I saw the trailer for L4D2, I didn't find it to be racist in any way. If anything, I thought it was quite awesome.
The people that DO find it offensive need to grow up and stop being oversensitive to this shit. Black zombies, big whoop. There were European Zombies in Resi 4, and no-one complained about that.
