It looks like it is going to happen. First we saw the 250 gig Xbox 360 Elite bundled with Forza Motorsport 3 and an extra controller (which as since been removed by Amazon) and now we see an advertisement in South America for the "Super Elite". Rumor has it that it will due around October, at least in S.A.

Let's hope the 'Super System' doesn't get RROD.

That's a bit of a dick move that, dropping the HDMI cable from the normal Elite and adding it to the "Super Elite".
Naming isn't the best either. You've got Arcade, Elite and Super Elite, but no normal console.
Eh, whatever, it's a decent bundle nonetheless, even if 250GB might be a bit excessive, don't know anyone who's even filled 120GB.

you forgot about the pro. I guess there isn't really a normal console without a title but the pro is pretty much the basic thing since its inbetween.

3000 - 4000 dollars.
You know I thought the price of a PS3 at $600.00 was a bit much, but this is just bullshit.
How about fix the original one and do a trade in deal.

It's not dollars. It's whatever currency they use in the part of South America where they are selling this.

I know there is a rumor going around that there is a good chance of a 250 gig PS3 slim so perhaps this is the answer to that. It is a bit of an off move though.
The arcade has no hard drive and we have "super elites" coming out with 250 gig hard drives. Not to mention they took out the HDMI cords. Weird.

Big harddrives are a necessity on the PS3, though, with mandatory installs and that. I have to delete stuff when I want to install a new game, since I've only got the 40GB.

Yeah but with the Games on Demand service starting up and all the downloadable content and expansions 360 games have now days it is only natural for them to increase the hard drive size as well.

I like how they're introducing the 250 GB version of this after the PS3 Slim 250 GB version was announced.
Also, did anyone read the bottom right text?
500 of that currency off when trading in your PS2 Slim. I lol'd.

The 250 gb PS3 slim hasn't been officially announced yet as far as my knowledge. Like the Elite price drop it was actually planned months and months ahead from when it happened so the PS3 slim/price cut and the elite price cut are somewhat coincidental.
As for the 250 gig bundle I don't know what the deal is. The SA ad looks a bit weird and I think the currency in American money is like $600+. I do believe there is one coming, I'm just no sure if that is the deal. I believe the German Forza 3 bundle one though.

Matt. I thought it was 3-4k too, but then I actually had common sense.
Just let it be.
SMC - But come on, we already know the 250 GB PS3 is coming already.

It's sad how you all flip out over a HDMI cord bot being included.....
Serisouly, $5.50 for a 6 foot cord... them not including a cord is not a big deal.

I didn't hear any rumors about the PS3 slim 250 until after the 120 gig slim was announced. I don't think Microsoft saw a rumor on the net, quickly thought up a bundle, retailers were contacted and ads were leaked. It looks like to me that companies usually know when their competitor is going to make a move and a general idea of what move they are going to make so they have similar or better offers to steal thunder from the other deal. Sony and Microsoft have been planning these price cuts/bundles for months and months so I don't really see it as being retaliation as much as it is preparation.

It's just a convenience thing. Being able to play it out the box rather than having to buy a separate cable.

SMC - Super_Secret wrote about the PS3 Slim, and also stated that it's coming in a 250 GB version as well..
I just think that Microsoft had SOMEONE read it, as obviously Super_Secret is someone in Sony, so it's not too out of the blue for an employee of their companies to be on the internet / same site.
Because there really wasn't any point in removing it.

Again, I heard nothing about the 250 gig model until after the original slim was announced. By then the Elite price cut and things like that had been planned and rumored far in advance. I don't think SS mentioned anything until towards the end of August '09 about a 250 gig model. I could be wrong but I didn't see anything.

With Games on Demand, and this whole thing with downloading a lotta games, I wouldn't be surprised if the next consoles offered 1 TB models.

I'm about 30GB off. With the release of a bunch of games soon I will probably fill it so yeah.

Super_Secret mentioned the Slim coming in two different "flavors," the 120GB and 250GB, back in the original post that made him credible. Then there was the FCC leak just recently. I seriously doubt Microsoft decided to make this Super Elite console because they were reading (at that time) unsubstantiated claims on n4g. Even if that were the case, who cares? It's just a bigger harddrive. If Sony can put it in a bigger harddrive to try to 1UP Microsoft, then Microsoft has the same right to match or outdo Sony again. That's the whole point of competition.
