From the day I tried Metriod Prime Hunters: First Hunt, I knew that the DS and FPS's could and would work, and when Wi-Fi was announced, I KNEW it would work, and when Metroid Prime Hunters came, I was SURE that it DID work.
Then...
Silence.
No more FPS's, where the hell are they?
I can't even begin to tell you how much potential they have!
Metroid Prime Hunters was amazing! We need more like it!
Seriously, Developers, you're missing out on a lot of goodness.
If there were FPS's that were great that I missed, please tell me.
Good.
hand held consoles seem to be dying altogether. Better to have a device that works as a phone, audio/movie player, camera and plays games.

C.O.R.E. pretty much killed DS FPS's. But Modern Warfare: Mobilized looks pretty good.
Here's my Dtoid account. And my Urban Terror ID is BenelliM4-Medic. And I know Travis Touchdown isn't a Capcom character, but I put him in anyway.
the only sucessful fps for the nintendo ds was MOON and the graphics were not that bad for DS standards.
cherry garcia: its like having an angel cum in your mouth
I don't think the DS was cut out to play FPS games. Sure, I was hoping for Metroid Prime Hunters to be a good game when it was about to come out but the controls were horrible and my hands hurted from playing the game after a short amount of time. There are some genres of games that aren't for certain consoles and in this case, the DS wasn't meant to play FPS games. I'm glad I haven't heard of many FPS games for the DS since those kind of games are more for PC and such.
Come to think of it handheld consoles do seem to be failing. Nobody has announced any new ones coming out, everyone seems to be concentrating on the big ones now like the 360 and PS3.

It's known that Metroid had those effects to start with, but once you got used to it, it was very smooth and those hand cramps became history.
Good.

I have to agree with you on that.

I love you guys.
There's a couple homebrew FPS's on gbatemp but most of them are still beta.

I sadly, have to agree too.
Good.
I think there were two Call of Duty games for DS.
OH GOD FPS ON DS IS A TERRIBLE MISTAKE THEY ARE HORRIBLE ON THE DS AND I HATE THEM SO I AM GLAD THERE ARE NO MORE ON THE DS

Apparently, they were both very good.
However, DS is more for puzzlers, platformers, strategy RPG's (loads of games from that genre actually) rhythm games and RPG's. FPS doesn't work too well.
My PSN ID is xscoot. Crazy, huh?

If you say that FPS's don't work too well, you haven't played Metroid Prime Hunters.
Good.
The DS doesn't really have the processing power to make amazing FPS games. There are only three of them I can think of.
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Mobilized Warfare (Modern Warfare 2, for DS)
It's a shame really. The DS isn't that bad if you just want to play something on the move.
I'm on Last.fm!
Also, I used to be YeOldeSierra. Now I'm just Sierra :3

I do voices.
Moon, the CoD's, Dementium: The Ward, Metroid and I think a bionicle game.
World at War is actually pretty good on the DS, I haven't played Modern Warfare as much though.

I've played the James Bond FPS and a little of the Metriod one, and felt they both worked very well, despite the need for a polished control scheme.
Although, if the DS had a higher resolution screen I think it'd lend itself to the genre a little better.
