Qustion About Halo Odst

I don't have enough money to buy the Halo 3 map packs and was planning to get ODST to get the maps with it, but I just realized, couldn't I simply rent it and then get the free maps like that? However it depends how the maps come, will the maps be in the disc or will it come with a voucher type thing where I have to put the code in the Marketplace, and if so it probably wont come with the rental version.

On the disc, it comes with a separate disc for Halo 3 multiplayer anyway, and since it's only the multiplayer, I can imagine they have enough space for all the maps.

But why would you pay money for just a map pack anyway? Sounds like a ripoff to me.
