"Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says." (1 Corinthians 14:34)
This kills especially knowing how many single mothers I know that are in church every day.
"But if ... evidences of virginity are not found for the young woman, then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones..." (Deuteronomy 22:20,21)
Well ladies if you do the deed before you are married the bible says it's ok to kill you, with rocks, all the men in town get to pitch one too.
Romans 13:1-7 states, "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God...If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor."
This verse basically says you have to obey the laws of the land. Where you live. Funny how so many men are converted in prison. After they have damned themself.
"This is my Kung Fu, and it is strong."
More atheists probably read the bible just to get a laugh out of it

This basically means that the American Revolution was against the Bible. If the founding fathers had been Christians (and consistent with their beliefs), America would have never become independent.
I used to be a christian myself, and I have never read the bible, though I still remember my dad reading me a few stories from it when I was like four.
Now I read it every time I stay in a hotel, and I laugh.
The bible is a pretty good read when your in the mood for some fiction
I dunno, it just seems that alot of people care more about religion than religious people. In which case, the joke's on the people who put effort into arguing something they have little to do with.
When it comes down to it, the only people who argue about religion are the nutcase religious people, who it's pointless to argue with, and the teenage people doing a degree in being a cunt. And it's just not satisfying arguing with them.
No, Christians don't. That's why I didn't bother to read the wall of text you had either.
I've read it a couple times.

This is probably true.
The ones that do read the bible simply pick and choose which parts they want to follow, depending on whether it would be convenient or not to do so.
No, the bible has had no significance ever since the concept of everybody interpreting its message for themselves, so christians dont even bother reading it anymore.

Slightly accurate, but I read the bible to be different from the average dickhead Atheist that complains about Religion without any knowledge of it. In other words Ignorance to another person's point of view.
And if you read the bible you'd realize that some Christians are more intelligient than you'd think. And once more it's all possible just I doubt it.
War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.
Yeah the bible is really misogynistic. It also says slavery is ok in the eyes of a loving god. If people say it is okay to pick and choose what to follow, they are contradicting themselves. You can't have an infallible god and choose what you get to believe in.
I am a new terror born in death, a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever. I am legend.
Im Christian, and i do pray to god everyday. But have i ever read the big book of exaggerated stories written by man himself....hell no.
Well I read the comic book bible. Is that enough?
Shut up already.
I can't read the bible... it's not a bad book by any means, it's actually really well thought out and has lessons and things that are important.
It's just entangled in riddles and questions and translations.
I think most christians slum reads the bible and just reamber they parts they like, Same effect a history book has on a school boy, "Name a historic event", "WW2"

Well, it really isn't, since it's full of contradictions.

Our founding Fathers where FreeMasons. But yea.
Also, we all get it. Gods a load of shit, blah blah. The only people who don't execpt it are the people who can't deal with the fact that one day your going to die.
Personaly I don't get what the big deal is. Eternal nothingness, its like sleep. Its really not so bad.

I think the real question is . . why do atheists target Christians when there are much crazier and more dangerous religions out there? =\
