I saw that Art pieces featured at front page. So far the artworks are ok but I am worried that some furry-loving weaboo scribblers (I won't use the word 'artist' on them) will migrate here to post their sick stuff.
I am worried because these fuckers draw shit and will upload everything they make into NG server and drain the resources. I stay away from DeviantArt. I only go there to look for photographs, photoshop brushes and textures. You all know that site is a massive culture fuck dominated by teenage girls.
What is Tom doing? Is NG being invaded by furries? Shit man. I believe we may need more furry-anime-hating mods for art section.

As far as site atmospheres go, it's better to simply ignore other websites you might not like and simply focus on Newgrounds. I've never used DeviantArt all that much, but it's not important when browsing Newgrounds really. They both have places to submit art, sure, but if you're getting negative connotations around an art section simply because of the association with DeviantArt... well, take that site out of the equation. They both may attract the same sorts of users, but that's alright, because not every user has the same style and not every user is a follower of a certain Internet subculture.

On your part, you can ignore works you don't like (and this applies all around the site), or you can give a constructive opinion. It's possible, trust me. You can play around with reviews too while keeping them on-topic. You could possibly point out some good points at times. Of course, if you're really that offended in the first place, you probably shouldn't bother for your own good really.

I'm sure the art mods are doing their bit just fine, though I'm not an art regular here. It might be one of those areas where it simply comes down to an opinion on whether something breaks the rules, but you can always try pointing stuff out to the mods, and their feedback will probably hint at whether it's deemed inappropriate. I'm not an expert on furry stuff, but it seems acceptable as far as the rules go.

Overall, just don't look at certain submissions if you feel that way. On top of that, keep in mind that Newgrounds is its own website, DeviantArt is its own website. Featured Art on the front page? Good idea in my opinion, and "problems" tend to be exaggerated here anyway (and heavily dependant on delicious variables).
