I think midevil shit, vampires, dragons and demons are lame because of the over dramatization they are beefed up with, and I'm an atheist who doesn't believe in the supernatural.
Alot of metal heads won't even listen to it if it's just about murder and psychosis like Slipknot. But I just can't get into leather studded outfits with spiked bracers and long girl hair that blows in the wind on the hills as we look for Valhalla.
What should I do?

seems like you're just talking about black and power metal here. Try listening to other types of metal.
Personally, I love thrash metal. Listen to some NWOBM like Iron Maiden.

I listen to power metal. I know it's ridiculous, but a lot of music is either ridiculous or too vague anyway.

I like my music hard and fast, but I like to see people who can actually play really well and not just play the same riff for 10 minutes. Plus if the singer is a guy, he should sound like one. Oh oh and I don't like them to sing about shit that doesn't exist. Like the devil lol

There's your problem right there. Good metal, or Slipknot. You can only choose one. Some people love death metal but dislike Viking metal because of the cheesiness and over dramatization though. It's all about taste. Some prefer only technical death metal, others hair metal, it's up to you. I like pretty much all kinds besides the shit tier.

Children of Bodem, Bullet for My Valentine and Killswitch Engage are all notable metal groups. In Killswitch's new album (it is the self-titled one fyi) it is hardly about evil, let alone it is hardly sinful. Its practically positive.

I used to be an avid metal head but then I opened up and now I listen to all types of music. I have love for most genres.
Just listen to what you think sounds good, if you don't agree with the lyrics or the meaning of the song, fuck it, fuck the labels, fuck the prejudice, fuck it all.
