Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt - NES.
My first memory was playing that game, too bad it doesn't work anymore.
First game I actually owned (for myself, not family's) was Donkey Kong Country 2 (and a Super Game Boy). I still have them and they're in beautiful condition. Can't say the same about the boxes and DKC2 strategy guide though.

Rayman on ps1 was the first I played.

That was the same with me. I recently decided to hook up my PS1 so that I could give it a shot and replay the memories. I still think it's a pretty good game. I remember buying the second one, but I wasn't too impressed. Although it was in 3D and had a lot more things that you could do, I feel they just changed it too much. For me that was a let down in the series. I refuse to play the new Rayman games that are being released now.

My first videogame to inspire me to continue playing was metroid prime for the gamecube. I bought it in 2003 and it took me a frekin year to beat it.

Twas Mario Bros and Duck Hunt for the Nes. And I believe it should be everyone's first game.

But I'll say it anyway.... Mickey Mouse Adventure =_=. I was about 6 at the time... but after playing it for a while, I got too bored, and went and played MGS1, a game my dad bought for himself. Been enjoying MGS since then XD.

I think Super Mario Brothers 3 as the first game I ever played. That, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

For those of you who say The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I feel sorry for you. Your first bullshit in gaming was probably one of the worst, the Water Temple.

Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island at the age of 5 on the Super Nintendo. If your planning on playing this game keep in mind that it's nothing like the oringinal. But maintains the same goal.

My first was Crash Bandicoot 3 for the Playstation 1 and it's been my favorite ever since. Even beat it 105% as well.

First one worthy of mention = Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.

Top class game for a Star wars fan and my first slice of both N64 gaming and expanded universe content in Star Wars.
