Right now, I am trying to touch up the details for the lineart. I am sorry for such a boring picture but I need to work on my ability to draw clothing, creases, and folds.

NOTE: This isn't the lineart. Just in case there is any confusion.

Although I say I don't like anime art, I'm partial to the semi-realistic type such as this. lookin' good mate.

it's ok, simple is good, the line of her face round the left eye is a bit off thoug. the cheekbone is right under the eye, and then the face should go in a bit at the eyes

hur,hur.

Take a look at the left (her right) side of the face on this photo - http://morguefile.com/archive/?display=1 87523&
Pay close attention to the contour of the face line. Notice that the cheekbone creates a curve just under her eyes. In your case the curve is much lower.

Ok, I have two versions of lineart in progress: one with the cartoonish outlines and one without.

Hair's gonna be a bitch though...

Anyways, which do you like better? I guess one thought was to tone down the length of the eyelashes. Looks a bit too...unrealistic.

I also resized one of the eyes.

One with eyelashes:

Trying to decide whether the watercolors or the acryllics would work best. Either that or cell-shading or some form of soft-shading...

This seemed to be a bit anime at first with the eyelashes, but no eyelashes isn't realistic either. They don't stick out only at the end, but run all across the top and shorter less defined eyelashes run on the lower eye lid. The drawing is progressing very well so far.

I got rid of the oversized eyelashes to prepare for more realistic ones. I am probably going to use this to experiment with coloring styles.

also, if you want to go for a more realistic piece, you may want to be sure to not draw the eyes and eyebrows over the hair. the hair should cover them
