Fileserver Issues

Some of you may have noticed the site has been running like ass for the past few days. We just realized it is because our new fileserver lost a hard drive. The system is running RAID, which is why it has managed to stay on-line - however it is running much slower than usual.

We have a new HD on order, set to arrive Friday morning. We'll have it installed by Friday evening and everything should be back to normal.

It looks like our good luck streak with HDs has run out - we've lost three hard drives in the course of about one month. One was a webserver, one was the DB server, and now the fileserver. That really SUCKS! Everyone wish us luck! :)

We didn't lose it in the sense we can't find it, it BROKE. DUH. :) The hard drive crashed, failed, etc. The sad thing is it probably only saw 2 weeks of use.

I thought I may have had a virus seeing as it was running so slow on peak times.

It's a wonder that this site stays up and running, just taking into account the shear volume of traffic it's subjected to. I can live without NG for a few hours, but not days and days, so it's all good.
