My friend calls it "Risein 3," let me know if u get the joke. The helmet looks good, very detailed. Around the helmet, the lines look curved. The game, i dont understand. Have u noticed that at the age of 1, ur character can not only walk, but jump. Hm, u should of added a background rather than cover it in just shading. Good job. Keep it up.

Yeah i need to work on a signature...maybe i'll borrow yours for now.

Really good, there are little un-detailed things but it's not something that is very noticeable.
Good job.

I am still amazed of your skills to know how good someone is overall by seeing two of their images, and from that knowing exactly wich one or two points he should improve. And the pure effectiveness you show while telling them this, impressive!

To gmanthesandwhichking:
You show that you have a good eye for form, if you haven't just traced these. The ratchet is nicely shaded also. It would be nice to see something you've drawn from your head or from real life though. It might be fun to redraw your favourite characters and other imagery, but you wont learn that much from it. If you want to improve you should draw something of your own. :)

Keep at it.

Your drawings are quite good but you could still improve alot.
You should focus less on shading and more on the figure and proportions.
Try to have a bit more contrast in your drawings, you should dry drawing with a black pen perhaps or using a softer pencil. Keep posting your work, :D

You need to actually finish your drawings, make the outlines darker or something.

laserkarl your a moron, its evident that he has no idea how to shade or any idea how to apply values, and your improvement advice is also absolutely retarded, how the hell is he suppose to learn anything if he "draws from his head". Clearly your not speaking from experience.

DONT draw from your "head" draw from life whether its a sock laying on the floor or a interesting figure on a table. Learn your values and learn to reach the appropriate shades needed. First you need to work with your values and line control, put your rachet and clank stuff away and start pumping out studies and not spewing out trash.

Sorry for being a dick but laserkarl is a retard.

Ok, um, well now its time for me to be an asshole. ok, these are just random doodles i do in my free time in under an hour. I can draw so much better than this stuff, so yeah, i just like to see what people think of my doodles and rough sketches. I draw from my head because i have an imagination, i like to draw "out of the box". There is no super mega death ray in real life, i just thought of it and put it down on a piece of paper. Oh, and by the way, I do know how to shade stuff and add values, a-hole.

Lol thens lets see your "better stuff" and imagination you say? half your work is ripped from game covers and other peoples "imagination". Dont bullshit me with the fact that you know how to shade and understand values, get off your ass and start doing STUDIES your not impressing anyone with your unsupported claims.

ill do a quick paint over to get the idea across
You need to push em values, its so flat that i could hardly tell the parts apart

Tell you what i want to see you draw from this skull spend less then 1 hour on it show me what you got, then i want you to also show me your best imaginative character.

I'll do the same, then once i see your work i will clearly either
A: be blown away and never return to newgrounds
B: Destroy your work and shove in your face that you need to do studies and make you stop acting like your some great artist.

hows that? i'll be waiting.

This guy seems out to get everyone as it turns out. Looking at the ONLY art piece he has in his gallery I was thoroughly unimpressed.. He had good values, and proportions, but his lines were sloppy, and he used terrible shading methods.
As my professor calls them "Straight lines"

Anyway, the best way to improve your art is simply to draw. I find imitating art from others is a great way to strengthen your own understanding of light, from example. Of course practicing drawing things the "Right" way is always helpful.
I like your doodles too.

Im sorry your a somebody? im humbled in your presence, Maybe if you shut your mouth for a second and let me get this kid to start doing studies and understand that he has allot of work to do then perhaps just perhaps it will all be worth it. But when soft pussies like you come in and say hes a good little boy and he is great how he is, then he will fail. So who is the real troll? the person demanding work or the "somebody" who tells him its ok his work is good enough?

Get your head out of your ass and let him stand on his own two feet. I will be more then willing to help him improve.

If your self-inflated ego wasn't so huge and getting in the way of reading, you'd know that I never commented on the op's work... good or bad... and I never said anything about myself... I'm not as arrogant as you are. I don't believe I'm all superior and know all there is to know about everything like you do. So get over yourself. If you want to help people, that's great. But you don't have to be such a colossal douche in the process.

I do want to help people and i suck, im well aware of that. But i have been working, i have been talking to pros, people who work for companies like blizzard, massive black, bungie, etc. I am repeating what they have said. I have been given advice directly from them for both my work and my effort. If i knew all i would have a sketchbook, i wouldnt be studying. So before you think im some huge douche with an equally large ego, im simply trying to get other people out of there Imaginative sketch rampages and into the "light" because i know for a fact firsthand, that studies = improvement.

seeing how you do want to help poeple I`ll give you some advice... If you give poeple advice, they will generally be more likely to accept it if you bring it "softly". so maybe try doing that next time

...the way you did when the people from bungie and blizzard had advice to give to you?! No... you respected them, so you listened. Odds are they said things in a CONSTRUCTIVE, HELPFUL, and RESPECTFUL manner. They didn't belittle and berate you and call it 'tough love'. Quit being a dick. You have it in your sig, so you obviously think people are impressed by it. No one is. You made your own thread showing what you can do... great. Now try offering advice, giving critiques, and being HELPFUL the way those REAL 'professional' were with you. If people respect you, they will be more inclined to give a shit about what you have to say. I don't care how talented a person is... if they're an asshole, I don't wanna hear their crap. Stop being an asshole.
