I feel like different ethnic groups and races have different traditional "hang out" spots.
I go to the beach and I go skiing pretty frequently, and I don't see that many African Americans in either environments.
However, if I go to a park on the weekend in the summer, I see a TON of African American families having picnics or playing sports with their kids.
It's possible that African Americans tend to stay more local to have fun, and Caucasians are more likely to drive to far-off locations to seek entertainment (theme parks, the beach, the mountains, etc). I don't know - I just feel like the two races have a different idea of what "having fun" involves.
Maybe African Americans have just discovered, through generations of segregation and injustice, how to have fun without spending money.
