It's because you have to find a bunch of hidden stuff in maps that they HAVEN'T EVEN RELEASED YET.
So it is virtually impossible.

oh yeah for some reason i was thinking that the killtacular one was in free for all. overkill is harder then.

I think a distinction needs to be made between hard and time consuming. I would say that guitar hero has some of the hardest achievements and most of the other ones are just more time consuming.

Multiplayer Achievements in Dead Multiplayer games (like alot of XBLA games) are near impossible.

I have the annual achievement in Halo 3 and boy oh boy it was really hard, long, and frustrating but also a little fun.
