I realized that when I was about 13 and realized that everything was absurdly overpriced and that there are maybe 4 decent rides in the whole park. You're better off going to Busch Gardens.

You mean that shitty virtual ride where they shake you in a car with hydraulics?

I went on it at the Universal Studios in California, it might be different.

I went to Disney World in 1998 and 1999 and it was rather boring. My parents spent ten times the amount of money going to Disney World instead of going to Cedar Point which I suggested. I did enjoy the shows at MGM and The Animal Kingdom was cool. Other than that though it was a lackluster vacation.

California Disneyland is probably worse.

The Red is where I have hockey games/practices.

The blue is the freeway I take.

I live south of there.

Seriously, in the summer, when all the Chinese queers come to 'vacation' here... worst trucking traffic ever.

Takes 40 minutes to go 10 miles. >:(

Poozy, me and you both frequent FL (I live but idk about you) , but I'm disappointed that you fell for Florida's shams. Shelling out money for shit amusement with brown old people and asians at these overly exaggerated parks.

But good call on the simpsons ride.

I always hated amusement parks. They're always so expensive and the food is horrible. The rides are so cliched. It is the same thing in every park.

It is an ok place to visit I hear but the main problem known with going to a place like that is the price of gifts and food etc. Food I hear can go from 10-14.00 for something as small as a hotdog. I guess the demand rises.

Do they still have the Hulk rollercoaster there? I always hates rollercoasters until I went on it, now I love them. It was awesome because there were no lineups lmao.

I went when I was 10, got sunburned so bad from swimming in the pool too long. I barely remember any of it though, the bus driver was an asshole though.

More like Gift Shop World, where every ride empties into a gift shop!!!

I was disappointed when I visited 5 years ago. Didn't live up to my childhood memories. Cedar point is 158% more fun.

I haven't gone to Disney since 1999. Doesn't look appealing anymore. I'll trust you and visit Universal Studios instead.

They have a program now where you pay twenty something dollars and you can eat all you want at most food joints at the parks and get eighty cent refills for giant cokes and free water refills.

I didn't get it though being that I only eat once while I'm in those big ass parks.

The older you get the more stuff like Disney loses its charm. We were there for the pack of kids that were with us mostly. Plus the coasters are awesome and classics like ET never get old.

Disney is bollocks. They haven't bothered to change it for years. I went in easter this year, and it was exactly the same as it was when I went as a kid. How fucking lazy.

Universal Studios and its sister park though were incredible. They've really done the place up, and the rides are fantastic. The Mummy Ride is one of the best I've ever been on! Wish we'd gone there more than that corporate jizzfest...

I was at Universal Studios Orlando at the end of July. Hot as fuck there, but you're right about the Simpsons ride. I liked Islands of Adventure better. My favorite rides were the Hulk and Dueling Dragons coasters.

When I was there, they had a terrible track record with stuff breaking. The Disaster ride closed to being broken, the Cat in the Hat broke while I was on it (fortunately, they got it working again), lockers by the Dueling Dragons malfunctioned left and right for two days, mine included, and the Terminator movie didn't play the first time, so the actress playing the Cyberdyne rep was beside herself and didn't know what to do. She did talk to us and wing it a bit, so I give her credibility for staying in character.

You're right about the overpriced crap--I was able to get to the front of the lines without paying extra since my room key allowed me to. You'd have to pay to skip lines otherwise. And with the pass I got, it was only 100 bucks for both parks for a week. 95 bucks a day for one park? Fuck that.

A lot of the stuff is useless crap, but I did buy some Terminator stuff for my boyfriend since he likes that.

Also, if you wanna get something more out of Florida, get in the car and go about an hour east to the Kennedy Space Center. Okay, so it's hot and there's a lot of walking, but the admission price is very reasonable considering you'll be there all day. I paid 38 bucks and spent the entire day there. My lunch was also less than 10 bucks.

The Space Center is fascinating. Lots of the stuff they actually used is out for you to climb around on, and if you're into rides, try the launch simulator. Hopefully you can withstand 3Gs of force. Every now and then they bring an astronaut for you to chat with. There wasn't one the day I was there unfortunately. If you're a space or history buff, this is the place for you.

The gift shop isn't bad either. If I were still a kid, I would have wanted some of those space playsets very badly. (Hell, I kinda still do.) They also have fun nerd stuff like the Star Wars cookbook.
