When we first began space travel, they would stop everything, and I mean everything, to report these launches.
Everyone would crowd around their black and white TVs (Or if you were rich, and an asshole, your color TV) and watch this.
After the seventh launch, people lost interest.
We just launch something into space, it becomes less and less interesting every time.
Unless we do something spectacular, like begin trying to colonize on a different planet, then no one will continue to care.

The shuttle program was created like 50-60 years ago. It's very costly and strays from more important missions NASA could be working on, such as the space station. It's for the best.

What are they even going to do up there anyway? Could you imagine if they actually find new life while they are walking around on where ever they are going to be?

They should stick a satellite or two on you and launch you into orbit, YOU'RE BIG ENOUGH.

You're right, the shuttles won't launch anymore after this. I was at the Kennedy Space Center last month and they said after the shuttles, they'll go back to those single-use rockets they used in the '60s. Apparently they're safer and don't sustain damage over multiple launches.
Also, according to the launch bulletin board at the Space Center, the Discovery will be carrying a payload, but it's secret and has only been given a codename of some sort. That's odd--other than satellites, I thought they didn't launch payloads anymore?

They need to just scrap the whole nasa program. It's stupid to pay those guys that much when they accomplish nothing that's worth a shit. So what? We gained some knowledge about the universe. Big fuckin deal.

We can go to the moon with computers that are equal to a modern microwave, but a futuristic shuttle launch is delayed for rain.

That's the problem, it'd take too much fuel to lift him off the ground.
My signature was old so I changed it.

i say keep him here, you don't want to throw the earth off its orbit.
everything i say is a combination of obscure references.
