Creature Of The Week #75

Hey! Good morning! Watch the sun come up.

This week's thread topic comes courtesy of n0sv3ratu, so give him a big hug next time you see him.

This week's I change shapes just to hide in this place, but I'm still, I'm still a Creature of the Week topic:
THE MATRIARCH!!!
Draw the leader of a family, and their underlings.
Like a queen bee, or a (more distinguishable) grey back gorilla.

RULES FOR THIS WEEK ONLY
- Have to include at least one underling in picture with the queen (or king).
- They must be different, but associative with each other at the same time.
... eugh, ok for example: Empress Bulblaxes or Emperor Bulblaxes compared to normal Bulborbs.

===CREATURE OF THE WEEK RULES===
- Only one entry per user will go through to the vote thread.
- You cannot post your old work.
- No human likenesses.
- No real-life animals (play-on-names are fine).
- No creature chimeras.
- A description for your creature is recommended, but not necessary.
- No MS Paint.
- If I decide not enough time has been spent on a submission, it won't be accepted.
- All other Art Forum rules apply.

Deadline is 31st of August, sometime.

If you have any other topic ideas, either post them to TurkeyOnAStick or leave a response on SirNightOwl's List of past COW Topics.

And make sure you don't forget to leave a vote on COW #74 entries!

Couldn't agree more. You would think that after awhile you'd lose motivation and start putting out sloppier starting images, but no such thing. Still great pictures for every CoW.

On question though; Is the theme matriarch or matriarch/patriarch...
Matriarch only applies to females (if im right) but your introduction to the subject is unclear on this matter...

made this with a mouse...its not bad for me with a mouse (in my opinion.)

This is a Dirt Creature and a Mulch Underling. They come up from under the ground and BLAM!, suck you into their holes and eat ya up. They have a good camofluge, and there main predator is GAZELLES!

Okay, so This is what Ive been working on...
And Im really dissatisfied with it... IT SUCKS BIG TIME.
So Im abandoning it and starting anew.
It might be the same pose, i like that.

Im going to practice on some "simpler" objects first. as in, no backgrounds, no creature concept design, just the painting. soooo. I might not participate in this cow after all... sorry

I understand what you mean, cause I haven't been practicing on the computer, and my COW entries suffered for it. If you get time be sure to enter... Or hold out 'til next week, because a break is always good. I hope all your practice pays off.

God this took forever, but I'm finally done.
higher quality here not sure if I need to post that, but I will anyway.
adenoid wolf, it's large body and stubby legs make it not the fastest but its sturdy and won't go down easy, it uses its jaws to dig wholes in the ground and sleep or wait in them, the smaller, more cuddly looking ones, draw unsuspecting travelers onto the hiding wolf's back, and surprise!

I thought I would do something different this week...Been poking Blender 3D and found that it has a sculpting tool, similar to ZBrush.

So, a WIP shot of what I have so far. As of now, I only have finished modelling the patriach. The textures are temporary (although I kinda like them) and I am yet to start the grunts. I doubt I'll finish in time though...

Wow, thats a damn original medium for this contest, but I would guess that it took a damn long time to make that. Although it is unfinished it still looks cool. Be sure to get it done in time.

M-Vero your creature is cool, although I like the background in particular (dah, i know it isnt supposed to be the main focus). Very nice foilage. The creature in question looks like a wolf that ran into a wall at mach 3. Or a Doggyloaf. Still neat though. I'd like to see more entries by you!

Definitely planning on doing more, probably not every week, but definitely more
