Due to the current economic situation I had to move back in with my parents. (I'm 20). It sucks(ed), but anyways, I have one of those drunken emorage dads. You probably know the type. They were arguing over money and he was being a total dick on a power trip, saying he was the boss of her and she needed to obey him and stuff, (all the while she's taking a call on her work phone.) My dad is angry that she's on the phone and tells her to "get off the damn phone", and grabs it and throws her iPhone into a wall. I heard her screaming "why are you doing this?!" and such, and I came in to the room to see what was happening. He had her backed up into a corner. I put my hand on his shoulder gently and asked him to stop and just walk away, he threatened me physically. When he turned around to resume harrassing my mom I grabbed his arm and asked him if he had hit her. He then unleashed a side of himself I've never seen, he grabbed me and slammed me into a wall and ripped my shirt in half, and that's when he took a right hand to the jaw.
I am not a fighter, though I have taken years of martial arts classes, I've never felt backed into a corner enough to feel the need to defend myself, let alone against my own father. He's always thrown and broken things but never physically attacked me. I feel bad for hitting him but I hope it put him in his place.. you can't go around bullying your wife and kids, try a stranger on the street and see what happens.
Anyway so my sister called the police when she heard the scuffle and before they arrived, he made a bowl of soup to sober up/get the beer smell off of him, and called the police himself to have me removed. My dad has always preached honesty and swears he's never lied, then to watch him lie to the police and say he wasn't so much as yelling at us made me physically ill. He told them nothing was out of hand and that I just punched him.
So now my mother and I are looking for an apartment and I get to add even more rent on top of the impressive pile of bills I already have, all because my father is a dumb drunk powertripping asshole.
