I believe in karma and poetic justice to a certain extent. Some people really just have it coming. It's probably just an inevitable force of coincidence though.

Who knows?..

So you are saying you believe in this magical thing called luck? Where people are naturally unlucky and bad things are going to happen to them? Or some people just have good luck and good things happen to them because of it. Believing in a thing such as luck isn't too far away from believing in something such as Karma if you ask me.

If everybody believed in Karma, the world would be at peace.

I think luck is more ridiculous than karma, but that's just my opinion. I guess to believe in luck you'd have to believe something like all actions are predetermined. Like since a person is unlucky, bad things will just happen to them. Disregards everything else that factors into the situation.

Not really. I rarely do anything good, but it seems good things always happen to me.

One has to realize that life is full of risks with odds that favor nobody. Actions done before said accidents are merely coincidence. Look at Stalin, what was the worst that happened to him?

And yet there are those people who think this. That no matter what they do their life is already planned out for them. That if it rains or they are upset that they are already going to have a bad day. Instead of realizing that it's their choice whether the rest of their day is bad or not they are so weak minded that they have already predetermined how the rest of their day is going to be. They then try to cover it up with words and ideas such as luck. Like they are so unlucky that the worst is going to happen to them no matter what. With that kind of mindset it's no wonder they make it come true.

Hm, what if it's something good such as a car didn't run you over and kill you the last time you crossed the street. Or because you did something good you don't get sick with explosive diarrhea. ;) What if the good that "karma" brings isn't always visible huh?

Don't get me wrong I don't believe in it either, but think about it.

Indeed! Self-fulfilling prophesy at its finest!
If you set out to perceive something a certain way, you will perceive it in that way. They create their own misfortune.

I think you two are a bunch of wannabe philosophers.
Luck is about chance.
If I throw a paper ball at a garbage can, it is according to my luck whether or not I make it.
If I make it, good luck. If not, back luck.

No, if you make it you had a good throw. If you didn't, it was a bad throw. Luck's got nothing to do with it.

No, karma is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of.

Oh look, I'm going to just take this fish and throw it on the ground and let it die. What is karma going to do?

Nothing. That's right.

Nope, tried to though. I used to try to be nice and do good things, but no retribution, so now I'm an asshole.

So, what to do you think of me?

Karma is complete bullshit.

Karma is awesome because you can use it to justify terrible things.

"Why did he rape me?!?" "Well... maybe you shouldn't of cut me off on the interstate last week..."

"Why did those people bomb my country!?" "I don't know but they probably had it coming..."

"Why was my pregnancy a stillbirth? :C" "Because you read Ctrl-Alt-Delete, bitch."

I honestly think that the views of "good and evil" in the world are entirely up to ones own perspective, and aside from a few big ones most can agree to, (Please don't murder other people) There are always going to be different views about what warrants karmic retribution.

"You're gay, so that's why you caught HIV."

Lol Karma.

That's because luck is usually related to this magical force. That's the way that you used it and that's the way it's suppose to be used whether you meant it or not. It's not exactly another word for chance, but it should be. Chance is more about the ability and skill to get something done and sometimes it'll happen and sometimes it won't.

Luck is defined as the force that seems to operate for good or ill in a person's life, as in shaping circumstances, events, or opportunities. Chance is more defined as the absence of any cause of events that can be predicted, understood, or controlled: often personified or treated as a positive agency.

Even though the word is interchangeable and is considered a synonym I think that there is that small difference.

I believe in luck but not karma.

My family are a walking talking example of bad luck. We do have luck just the bad kind. Everything we do goes wrong and we aren't bad people.

If karma, as in the way you mentioned existed, then I would've been paid already with fortune.
But nothing good came out of it.

There are a lot of criminals who gets off without even punished. But I think karma does exist, when everybody's aware of it. If everyone participates in this system, then people would mind bad deeds and punish it severely.

Karma is a Bitch
You can love it, or you can hate it,
but believe me it's bloody real enough

Not too long ago, I pretty much stole a girl from a friend of mine, only to have her be taken away by another friend of mine about a week later. Worse still, this happened on the night we went camping not too ling ago. They ended up doing it in the second compartment of the same tent i was in.

I think I broke my mates heart, or I must have at least, because this ruined me :'(

How's that work? You mean like the justice system or everyone exacting revenge on each other?

I don't believe in the idea that there is a concious universal power balancing everything out in the world...but I think the idea that if you are a morally sound person you'll be better off in life is a nice little teaching for life, although it is a shame that it really isn't true...all you have to do is think about how good things happen to bad people all the time.

I used to really believe in karma until I started thinking about robert mugabe and stuff like that. I also know a lot of situations where my friend's relatives have died of cancer or something and they had hearts of gold ect ect.

Like complimenting people for their good deeds and rewarding it, and performing the justice system like the one we're utilizing now. But not as corrupted as nowadays.

You could apply that kind of reasoning to anything.

If everybody followed the same version of a particular religion, the world would be at peace.
If everybody just agreed with each other, the world would be at peace.
