Genre is a different question - it all depends on what demos are submitted and how good they are. There's no reason to keep a poor song on the EP just for the sake of having at least one song from its genre.
It'd be easier if there were 10 or 15 right? Then it wouldn't be so hard to divvy up the money gained from the CD sales.

Well, standard album specs apply:
72 minutes total
(and we're doing roughly 10-15 tracks)
So each track can be anywhere from 3 min to 7 min.
