Lol, failcube.

Anyways, recently my little brother has been whining because he can't play his gamecube. Apparently the reset and open buttons are stuck, making it very difficult or impossible to play games. I want to shut it up so... Can someone tell me how to fix this? Picture below to help get a good idea of the problem, and to prove I'm not making up shit.

Thank goodness my good ol PS2 never gets problems like this.

I think just buying a new one would work, but try some WD-40. Or you could realize that you just got it open so you probably don't have that much a problem.

I should also call bullshit on this but I wont.

Look at the picture, notice how both buttons are pushed in all the way yet nothing is pushing them in? I'm telling the truth here.

But anyways, WD-40, ill try that out, whatever that is. Thank you.

Not talking bout the gamecube, but that's all other unimportant shit of which I do not care.

WD-40 is an anti-sticking spray. Either that or a bottled air can should do the trick. Both are inexpensive and chances are you have them lying around the house.

lol. why do people hate the gamecube? it is the 2nd best Nintendo have done, after N64. GC is a classic with loads of great games like Melee, Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Mario Kart Double Dash, Paper Mario TYD, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Zelda: 4 sword advanture, Pokemon Coluseum and XD Gale of Darkness and of course lot more...

"TEH GAY CYOOB SUCKA CUZ IT HF NO CUL SHUTTERZ WIT BIG STONGR MEN INIT TEH ONLE GUD GMAE ONIT IZ SMAQHS BRUS BRAWL 2" Is the typical answer I get whenever I ask someone why they hate the gamecube or any Nintendo console on that matter.

I don't actually hate the gamecube or Nintendo, I called it a Failcube because of the buttons got stuck like that. I was insulting the one system itself, not all gamecubes in general.

If all of the suggestions in this thread fail, just buy a new GameCube. They're only about $20 second hand.

I feel ripped off thinking that I bought mine full price shortly after launch. If I had known that it was going to drop in price so quickly, I would have stuck with my N64 for a couple more years.

Prepare for unforeseen consequences.

Good thing you never used your PS2 to play DVDs. PS2s were notorious for breaking because the laser to read the discs wasnt secured properly, or something; you had the choice of opening it and trying to tighten the laser's head, or whatever, and risk breaking it on top of voiding the warranty, or sending it to Sony and having them tell you to fuck off, you're gonna pay them a lot of money to fix it, because warranty for some reason wouldn't cover it - at least in my case.

Whoa, WD-40? Tht's for undoing rust, not fixing electronics. The reset button really isn't needed, and fixing wouldn't do much but take up alot of your time. So forget about fixing it.

But fixing the open button is much more simple. Just run your fingers across the lip inside the GameCube, and feel for a notch. Once you find it, just wiggle it around with your fingers until it comes undone. Trust me, I've done this before.

Here's my Dtoid account. And my Urban Terror ID is BenelliM4-Medic. And I know Travis Touchdown isn't a Capcom character, but I put him in anyway.
