I want to know if I should buy this script. It has always been my dream to run a socail networking site, so far I have run 2 primitive forums with PHPBB and Invision, but I want to expand further into something better. So what do you guys think?

No, you shouldn't go for it because if it's basically like Myspace or any of the other social networking sites out there, no one will find it interesting. In order to create a relatively successful social networking site, you have to offer something different, out of the box to draw people in and get them to sign up and actually use your site. It's a pretty complicated process, and most don't succeed.

Hoping on the social networking bandwagon is a terrible idea right now.
Think of it like the housing market, and right now it's completely over - inflated. In a couple months to a year, the bubble will burst and people will congregate back to the 2-3 largest sites around at the time.
You'll loose a lot of money on web hosting, not to mention the price to buy the code.

Speaking of which, why don't you just rip it from the site itself? :S

The only way to make this worth while is if you have a really good idea for a niche site, and a way to get word out fast so as to dominate the market.

The social networking thing has already exploded. It would be better for you if you had been a part of the explosion, then people would recognise your site and everything, whereas now you'll just be grouped with the rest of the bandwagonists.
