This is the one I have (although, when I got about a year ago, they came in white), and if you can find it cheap (like now), it's a great one. Large and durable, it's lasted me all of freshman year and the start of sophomore with only a few stains to show for it.

I remember when those single-strap backpacks took off. What happened was that people realised that they could remove a person's backpack just by slapping the velcro part in an upwards motion and letting it fall to the ground.

Lol, my school is on the 4 block schedule. Most of the time 2 of those blocks are primary classes (english, math, etc.) where we use books. The other half are electives (art, auto, etc.) where we don't usually have books. Also my freshman year most of my classes that we used books in had us just leave it in the classroom.

If you want to avoid appearing 'gay' due to your bag choice, here a few hints;

- Don't get rainbow coloured bags
- No man purses
- Nothing pink
- Nothing with your favourite cartoon characters (sure it will be cool to you but others with different tastes will find it 'gay' and comment on it)
- Neutral colours are best, think biege, grey, black brown and white. If you do want more colour just be careful not to get a bag crowded with different colours and/or not too bright
- Band patches are not cool
- When wearing a two strapped backpack, always keep the straps on the lowest setting. This means you won't look like a dork when you have both straps on and is better for your back then using just one strap

I used 4 messenger bags throughout highschool, and they were all very usefull. People never said anything about it, and that's what I expected out of them. I still use messenger bags. Hell, I still use them when I go to work.
