Be grateful that few, if any, albums made today will not stay on the top ten charts for more than a few weeks. These albums and songs today just don't have the long lasting appeal that older songs have.

It's not musicianship anymore, and that's what I find depressing.
Listen to number 1s from artists such as Elton John, The Police and even ABBA.
They were crafted with a lot of hard work, melodies and memorability (for all the right reasons) in order to create really good songs, now it's just auto-tune and preset drum loops.

The only Black eyed peas track I like was 'Where is the love' and even that's a guilty pleasure of mine. I have just heard these 2 Black eyed peas songs for the first time now, and i just have to say i am fucking apalled. Yep. I hate almost every single modern band. Though, there is the rare diamond amongst the shit that is the music industry. But I still prefer to listen to the 80's and 90's music. Of course these guys are awesome. Though their latest album Rosenrot, was a little disappointing.

Because enough people pay to watch the people that suck and not enough talent or musicality is paid attention to by "mainstream" anymore... pop anyway.

They have a live stream as well, even though I don't need it here. Because they are publicly supported and not owned by a corporation that owns artists and pushes those artists they play the good stuff that gets pushed off to the side. Now, there is some inconsistancy. I've turned on that station and heard gregorian monk chants, for instance or Irish folk tunes, or American Folk tunes, or really sweet guitar solos. I mean, you hear everything from blues, jazz, rock, folk, electronica possible on that station, and some of it isn't very good. But, its all better than the repetitive stuff I hear elsewhere.

I'd check to see if you have anything like this near you...

Heh, most of my music tastes are from the 2000's and I wouldn't say the music I like is shit. Right now I'm listening to music from the 80's, but that's generally a rarity for me.

There are still A LOT of talented musicians and songwriters out there today, you just need to look in the right places.

You do realize that the black eyed peas were around way before Fergie. They were an actual rap group and like the roots they performed all the instruments they used. instead of relying on samples. Then they brought in Fergie and fucked it all up.
