Lucky you. Mine was about 80% on 'culture' which the exam writers apparently thought meant 'fashion'. In my AS paper there was also an eight mark question on algrebra which an eleven year old could do.

in my RE exam (GCSE) I wrote the lyrics to land of confusion.
I mustve dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
Theyre moving into the street.
Now did you read the news today
They say the dangers gone away
But I can see the fires still alight
There burning into the night.
Theres too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Cant you see
This is a land of confusion.
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth living in.
Ooh superman where are you now
When everythings gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour.
This is the time
This is the place
So we look for the future
But theres not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion.
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth living in.
I remember long ago -
Ooh when the sun was shining
Yes and the stars were bright
All through the night
And the sound of your laughter
As I held you tight
So long ago -
I wont be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
Were not just making promises
That we know, well never keep.
Too many men
Theres too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Cant you see
This is a land of confusion.
Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for.
This is the world we live in
And these are the names were given
Stand up and lets start showing
Just where our lives are going to.

What can I say...I'm not that into 19th century german politics
Oh God, haha, I think I'm going to forget that for a while, as much as I prefer to study modern history over ancient history. I'm guessing you did a paper that was based around Bismarck in some way? I did a Bismarck paper (well, a unification paper) in AS and A2. The one at A2 was a source-based paper, that I first took in January, ending up with a D. I panicked, had a resit, came out with a B. That was a little shocking.
I weish I could've done film, but my college didn't let you do film and history, and I had a bit more of a thing for history. My coursework was pretty film-based anyway, so that's all good.

I got straight Bs, and an A in general studies, with the papers being 90% in maths/science, 80% society/politics/stuff, 70% culture/stuff.
How the fuck can you not get at least a B in general studies, I do not know.
I got a C, haha. I only took it at AS though. Apparently my college weren't that desperate for additional funds in the face of a recession. I got an A in the "what's your opinion?" paper, but I faltered on one of the others somehow. No one particularly tried though, as I would think is the same at other places. I like to think that most of those Internet-circulated "stupid exam answers" come from general studies papers. I mean, one guy in my year just wrote "Only Smarties know the answer." on one of them, and walked out. It might not be funny, but you might be able to guess from that how popular general studies was.
And let's not get started on key skills!

I'm interested to know when I advance in programming.
The accomodation isn't free at university, unless you had very very special circumstances, as far as I understand. With my place, they released an application form on April 1st, and did their bit on a first-come first-serve basis. A friend of mine did his very late, and ended up living in the city centre, which might sound good but when the place in question is Bath Spa University, and you really need to get the bus every day as a result (with a guitar too, since he was doing a music course), hmm... You'd probably need to look up the universities in question individually, because some of them have rules about who is given accomodation priority. For example, if you live within twenty-or-so miles anyway, your priority might be lower than that of somebody from the other side of the country. What you get with your room can be pretty varied too as I've looked around.
I'd just recommend checking out the places you might want to go to, and looking through their accomodation stuff online. The websites usually mention their rules and whatever. This is just out of my own experience though!

Haha, oh man, I had to do key skills communication. Didn't turn up to even one class, didn't do the portfolio, and just sat the exam, and I still passed. It was something about video games and I was using terms like "neckbeard" in it. It's the easiest thing to pass in the world.

They brought in key skills in my second A-level year (before they split it up into AS/A2). I think I went to the first 3 classes... that was it. Still passed. I really don't see the point in them running it, to be honest. It's time that would be better spent on the subjects you're really there to study.
I didn't get the best results in the world - English/B, Geography/C, Physics/C, but much better than I was expecting. I'm not the brightest crayon in the box :)

Haha, I did communication, but I apparently didn't have to do the exam because I was doing English anyway (at least, that's what they told us). We had to do a talk on a topic of our choice, with props being required for some reason. I just did one on my favourite films, and brought in a few DVDs to use as props. I didn't prepare for it in any way, and just shrugged a few of the necessary questions really. I put it on my UCAS, even though none of us knew if we had actually passed.

This year they had us doing Improving Own Learning and Performance, which was effectively "taught" in the tutorial sessions every Monday at my college. Thankfully, our tutor let us go straight away most of the time, so we could just go and work on the actual subjects we were doing. I did the portfolio in about a day like I had done with communication before, and put it on the UCAS for no particular reason other than having a bit of filler.
Unfortunately, not many people bothered with it at all. I use the term unfortunate, because it turned out that the college actually do get funding for the key skills... and when the estimated eighty students actually bothering to do it came out at about fourty students, the senior staff were not pleased. People were forced to do it at the last minute when they should've been revising, despite it being pretty much pointless at the end of the day. It was uncomfortable, the way things are and all, and with cutbacks being rumoured all the time.
It's all silly :(

Well done on your results. I got my GCSEs late because I was away, I remember. Good times.
