WritersBlock has announced the new Monthly Writing Contest! The theme this month is Culture Shock, read the thread for more info. Previous winners will be announced shortly.

F-777 has announced an Album Art Contest for the "Beyond the Horizons" compilation CD featuring various Audio Portal contributors!

ForNoReason has set up two new charity accounts. You can give these accounts a private credit on your submissions to share a portion of your page revenue and Flash Ad earnings.

Current charity accounts:

Yellow Ribbon - To assist injured service members and their families.
Breast Cancer Research Fund - Works to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer.
Child's Play - Donates toys and games to children in hospitals.

Child's Play is also the beneficiary of our Power of Three event, where artists, programmers and musicians have teamed up to make games. Upcoming games will appear on the release schedule.

So, are the charities credible? At least here in Sweden, we have systems to separate the scams from the serious ones. I am not making accusations, just being reasonably skeptic.

oh yeah, just as with UFF a few years back? may be that's part of a Danish corporation, but it's still fishy like hell. i personally don't trust nay larger charities... i prefer to give money to street-artists if i am to give any charity. especially musicians.
