Due to its huge size, it is hard for the Grassland Behemoth to find enough food, so it partly relies on photosynthesis, usually associated with plants, to gain energy. And as everyone who didn't sleep in their biology class knows, the process of photosynthesis uses up carbon dioxide and creates oxygen.

Name: Arshbarg
In the past people feared this creature, this was an irrational fear, upon the day of the Chernobyl disaster people noticed that the areas that Arshbarg's inhabited had less quantities of radiation than those without Arshbargs, as it turned out, the creatures fed on the radiation in the air, the ground and the water and turned it into purified h2o. Now the creatures are used on a global scale as a means of removing radiation from bomb test sites and other areas.
The creatures originate also from the chernobyl incident and it is believed they are a mutated form of some kind of dog, the creatures have no hind legs of such, just stumps, the front legs have 2 claws they use to pull themselves along and also to defend themselves. The creatures eyes have a thick, clear skin over them to protect them from areas of intense heat.

Something that looks a bit suspicious
Basically a slow creature that uses bipedal crawling. It eats cadavers and rotting plant material, but is also known to eat excrement and human trash.

Meet green fingers.
These creatures are camouflaged to resemble the grass on the ground, but are usually quite friendly and let bystanders walk on top of them. HOWEVER, they are not kind to pollution and rubbish bugs. Hence, a huge grassy hand comes down on the people below like a mouse trap, killing them and dissolving any rubbish or pollution into the air as clean air.

"Respirus Vitticeps"
These big lizaard-ish creatures were first spotted at the time of the famous London smog. It soon appeared that these creatures feed by inhaling the particles and microorganisms that exist in polluted air (much like whales feed on plankton) and were attracted to the polluted city due to the abundance of food. By now every self-respecting metropolis has one of those walking air-cleaners.
Why do they have yaws? Well, they can't drink air, now can they?

Name: Makista Sihuoka
Common Names: Scrubnewt, Foamer
Average Adult size: 2 feet long from snout to tip of tail
Originally, the Scrubnewt inhabited the water-filled ravines in the Kadocaulta region, and thrived there in numbers. They would use the bristly hairs around their mouths to scrape algae, small crawlers and edible debris off the porous rocks. To aid in removing their food from the rocks they would squirt from their mouths a combination of two digestive enzymes from glands in their heads onto the rocks, removing all grime and leaving them spotless.
Gradually, the peoples of the region began to build up their metal working industries, requiring them to excavate the Kadocaultan hillsides for their materials. Eventually the mining corporations decided they would have to drain the ravines in order to excavate greater quantities of ore.
The destruction of the habitat severely affected many species and forced some into extinction. For the Scrubnewt the destruction of their home drove them to find a new home and food source.
Outside of the water the Scrubnewt's leathery bodies held up fine and they were able to adapt. The real problem was that they had no readily available food source in the wild which resembled the algae. Within the spreading industrial landscape they found something that would sustain them. A thick grime consisting of various fuels, greases and bi-products enshrouded the area as factories toiled away. The chemical makeup of it closely resembled the algae in the ravines, and as long as the factories were alive it would resettle.
So now with a new habitat and food source they thrived, and in doing so they were constantly cleaning the factories and cities. They were able to feed off of most surfaces, such as piping, brick, and concrete. Once people realised their clean-up capabilities they were quickly protected by laws to prevent their extermination as, how some people view them, pests.
