So my friend sent me a $1 American note today and I have to say that your money system seems fragile as all hell.

I'm from Australia, and while our money is an incredibly flamboyant set of yellows, pinks and blues, we have the added bonus of making our money invinsibile as it is coated in plastic.

You can't tear it, ruin it with water, scrunch it... it's very sturdy. But I'm afraid to even hold your paper money. If only Australia had the same cool designs your money had.

Laminated money? That sounds horrible. I like to shove bills into my pocket, not have to take time out of my day to place them somewhere where I don't have to worry about the corners.

Actually our money is printed on cotton. It just looks like paper, but it's really cotton.

Though the money is worth almost nothing outside of America.

Just to clarify, Our australian notes are not laminated how you think, They are even more flexible then yours they can fold without creasing and can bend with even gravity. Our notes win.

You know, I've always thought that U.S. notes looked a little cleaner with its simpler colors than foreign bills. The addition of a border on ours also makes the whole design neat overall.

US bills are way more handy than you think. You can take an ancient bill, that is a crumpled flat mess, unfold it, set it under a book, and it's somewhat good as new. Also, our bills are good if you have the two green serial numbers. As long as those stay readable, you can blend a fucking dollar if you want.

I kind of have to go with this. Anyways, they may not be as sturdy as yours, but they are not as easily crumpled, torn, or ruined as you might think. You can also get them wet. I see bills with a slightly torn edge, like a page that's been turned one too many times, but not all the time.

If yours have plastic, I'd say that US money would probably be more prone to becoming dirty.

Australian notes are a symbol of tolerance for fags. They are bright and colourful, quite spunky in a purse and it's easy to clean any stains off without fear of damaging them.

U.S Money might not be as fancy as yours but it's very convenient even if you crunch it up because you just need to flatten it back out and you'll still be able to pay it so it doesn't matter what it looks like.

The fresh new ones also smell nice.

They aren't stiff. You can scrunch them up and shove them into your pockets if you wanted to.
