MGS4 wasn't that hard. You had Drebin. No need for Stealth.
MGS3 wasn't either. Just required stealth and thinking.
Didn't play MGS2.
MGS1 was fucking hard. I never beat the first level.
Well, they all have difficulty settings. And there's not much difference in difficulty between all of them on, say, Normal mode.
But on this topic, I'm currently trying for the Big Boss Emblem in MGS4. No Kills, no alerts, no healing items, and complete the game under 5 hours. This game is just begging for trophies.
I usually frequent the VG and collaboration Forums. If you find me anywhere else, I'm lost and can't find my way back.

Oh, and it has to be on Big Boss Extreme. Currently, I've only done Act 1. This shit is hard.

No I'm not kidding. I even tried the MGS1 simulation right on Act 4 in MGS4.
Could NOT beat it. Got my ass kicked. Didn't know the controls besides how to move, I got alerted out of nowhere. Good god it sucked.

Wow................not to rude man but you suck if you cant get past that point.
To both of you.
I DO suck at the game. Regardless, fuck you slackerzac.
I know I suck but I just can't seem to get through it.

Now I dont believe that that was really a "fuck you" moment now. Just say in detail why you couldnt get passed it and maybe we can help.

Well, there was a codec call before that point in the real game. There are two ways into the building. One on ground level, and another up the stairs. I choose up stairs but since this mini demo ends once you get to one of the points, just choose the ground level one. You'll get spotted unless you're really careful but you could still make it in. It's located just north. It's a crawl space next to a guard who can barely stay awake. I would sneak up and knock him out.
If you ever want to go through MGS1, try the Gamecube remake if you can. Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. It's superior with MGS2 controls and actions, and can be a lot easier if you want it to be. It also has a first person aiming system instead of simply firing a gun blindly in front of you hoping to hit something.

Not really. The very first part of Act 2 and the bike chase were the only difficult parts.
I'm the worst at MGS2, but I've also played it the least. It also has the hardest button-mashing sequence and it's actually required, unlike MGS1.

The NES version of Metal Gear is most definitely the hardest metal gear game. I could never get past the beginning.
I don't think any of them is hard, they where all easy for me. Except mgs 1, i haven't played that yet.

This, the 8 bit Metal Gear games are hard as fuck. Very good stories though.
I've only played Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2. I'd have to say that there's absolutely no difference in difficulty for me. MGS1 was quite easy as is MGS2. I'm going to try and play MGS3 sometime though. Then I need to get a PS3 to play MGS4... fuck.
i have played MGS1, 2 and 3, but only completed 2 and 3. i find MGS2 harder then MGS3. sometimes i go lost on the fucking huge plant xD
the only hard time i had in MGS3 was against The End because i didn't blow him up when i could xD so i spent 2 hours in the forest hunting for The End -.-

Well MGS4 is a little hard on extreme trying to run n gun, Cuz the soldiers keep coming and it takes like 20 shots to the chest to kill one its a bit hard trying to think and shoot a guys head when being shot at by like 5 other soldiers and a chopper. And the bosses are bitches.
I mean Ill try sneaking but if im seen, fuck it whip out the minigun and blow erm a way/
Death cures a fool
Hands down Metal Gear on NES
There is a room toward the end where there is a specific path you need to walk on (like up two tiles, left four tiles, up three tiles, right... and so on) and there is NO WAY o figure it out besides trial and error. Such a fucking pain in the ass.
But since that game is older than most people on this forum, I would say the hardest game was MGS2, because it was the first game in which your alert didn't fade away when you entered a new zone, and even I wanted to kill Raiden.

When i finally beated act 1 in those conditions, i realized i used a recovery item... frustrating...
I really had trouble beating the first one,for the NES.

NES one was ass, MSX-2 version was much superior. You don't even get to fight Metal Gear in the NES version for chrissakes!
And I beat it.
My PSN ID is xscoot. Crazy, huh?
