I got in a argument today with a friend of mine from school on facebook today, we argued for about an hour about MJ.
And then she was like "You can't deny his influence on ALL music! What kind of music do you listen to?" "Pretty much nothing but metal" "MJ influenced all the first metal bands! Do you honestly think bands like iron Maiden and Dragonforce would have thought of doing those kind of vocals on there own? OF COURSE MJ INFLUENCED THEM."
After that, I cried.

I was saying Michael Jackson sucks and his music isn't anything special and that it's a good thing hes dead because he was so miserable.
She was saying he was a music god and if he didn't die his tour would've been one of the most incredible shows to go to ever.

Jackson certainly influenced a lot of pop bands and probably a lot of rock bands but to say he influenced all types of music is just ignorant. Metal? Drone? Sludge? Noise? Industrial?
